AC180P turns off randomly

Hi!,
I have the problem as described above. When at 100% battery and losing power from grid the station just shut downs by itself. Could you please also update my firmware?

AC180P2428000437260
IOT: v9046.04
ARM: 2125.04
DSP: 2126.04

Hello, my Bluetti AC180P has the same problem as other people describe here. When used as UPS, while at 100% battery and losing power from grid, the station turns off by itself. Would you please also push this firmware to me? My Bluetti current firmware versions are as follows:

AC180P2349001840521

ARM: 2089.04

DSP: 2088.03

Thank you so much

Hello,
I was writing in Jun 2024 about random station shutdowns and received updates, after this station worked flawlessly, however, issue returns back in the recent weeks(full shutdown), the only thing that help is manual restart.
Maybe there is a new update that you can send to me?
S/N - AC180P2349001119880
ARM - v2089.04
DSP - v2088.03
BMS - v1039.01

ps. I’m the owner of 2 AC180P that are used in the similar conditions and I don’t see any issue with another one.

Thanks!

Dear Bluetti team,

I’m writing to suggest a very useful firmware/app improvement that would solve a common issue for many users running Bluetti stations as UPS systems in areas with unstable power grids.

Problem description:
With Grid Self-Adaptation mode turned on, the station charges reliably even during severe voltage sags (150–170 V) and frequency fluctuations. However, the moment the battery hits 100% and the grid fails (power outage), there is a sharp transition from charging to discharging under load → internal protection kicks in (overload / overcurrent / relay protection), and the station either shuts down completely or requires a manual reset.

If Self-Adaptation is turned off, charging doesn’t start at low voltage, so it never reaches 100% under bad grid conditions → protection doesn’t trigger as often.

Why it happens specifically at 100%:
The sudden current spike through the input relays / BMS / power circuits during the instant switch (charging → discharging under load) is one of the most stressful scenarios for the hardware. At 90–95% this spike is much smaller, and protection rarely trips.

Suggested solution — add a Charge Limit / Maximum SOC setting (e.g., 80%, 90%, 95%) in the app for grid charging.

  • This feature already exists in some newer models (like Elite 200 V2 under Customized UPS or Battery Settings), but it’s not available on my model AC180P.
  • EcoFlow solved the identical issue with this exact feature.
  • Additional benefits: better battery longevity (LiFePO4 cells prefer not staying at 100% constantly) and reduced trickle charging cycles.

This would make Bluetti stations much more reliable as true uninterruptible power supplies in regions with frequent grid issues.

I kindly ask you to consider implementing this in a future firmware update — it would help a lot of users!

Thank you for your attention and for building such solid products!

Best regards,
Viktor

Yes, indeed the problem is widespread mainly in Ukraine now, this feature was very relevant for users from Ukraine. Thank you

Hi @Saulus, thank you for sharing your experience and insightful suggestions.
That is indeed the case. Our current firmware allows the AC180 or AC180P to charge under weak grid conditions, but this impacts the UPS switching time. Customers can only choose one of the two functions instead of having both at the same time.
Regarding your suggestion on the maximum charge limit SOC, it is highly valuable. We have forwarded it to the technical department, and they will discuss it further.
Thank you for your attention to this matter; it is also of great significance to us.

Hi @Anton4, we have unbound the email address linked to your AC180P again as per your request.
Please rebind a new email and log in.

Hi @ACrow, regarding this matter, we have applied to upgrade your system to our IT department. If the new firmware is available, they will complete the push within 24 hours.
Please upgrade the firmware tomorrow. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.
Please let us know if it works.

Thank you to the Bluetti support team for developing the new firmware specifically to address the UPS issues!

I have checked the app — the new DSP v212681 was pushed, and I successfully updated to it today.

Quick feedback after initial testing:

  • Without inductive load (router, TV, chargers): UPS mode works perfectly.
  • I will test with the compressor fridge (inductive load, ~150W nominal) during the next outages and report back if the switchover issue (previous overload trigger) is fully resolved.

So far, everything is stable — excellent work from the R&D team!

I also have a feature request that would make the AC180P (and other models) even more reliable as a UPS, especially in regions with frequent power outages like Ukraine.

Please consider adding a setting in the Bluetti app to limit the maximum charge level from grid/AC input (e.g., options for 80%, 90%, 95%, or custom values).

Additional benefits:

  • Longer battery lifespan: LiFePO4 cells degrade faster when constantly held at 100% charge.
  • Reduced small current top-up cycles (eliminates the common 100% → 99% drop and recharge loop in UPS mode).
  • Improved UPS reliability: Avoids any potential edge cases related to full charge behavior (like the previous random shutdown issues some users experienced).

This would make Bluetti stations ideal for long-term UPS use in unstable grids and fully resolve minor annoyances like charge percentage fluctuations.

Thank you for considering this — many users on the community forum would appreciate it!

@BLUETTI_CARE Hello! I have a problem with the station. It turns off with a flickering screen. If possible, please send the latest stable version of the firmware. I hope the problem is in the firmware, and not in the stations themselves. Thank you.
