Charger 1 lights stay on after disconnecting from power bank

After a successful installation, fiirmware upgrade and charging my Jackery 500 at 27 volts input as the initial test to make sure everything was working as per the user manual, I was shocked to return to my vehicle after two hours to find the charger one hadn’t shut off after the stated 30 minutes and had drained my battery down to 12.1 volts. (The power bank was disconnected) Contacted customer service via phone and was told you have to turn off the Charger 1 via the breaker switch. This contradicted the FAQ which clearly states: “The Charger 1 is designed to automatically shut down 30 minutes after the engine is turned off”.

The green led light remains on after 30 minutes, (over two hours now) flashing steadily approximately every 2.5 seconds.

I can’t be offroad miles from anywhere and this happen again. I purchased this based on the fact that it was supposed to automatically shut down after 30 mins and not drain a battery, which it does.

I double checked the manual and nowhere does it say use the breaker as an on off switch.

If this is the case which contradicts the manual then why isn’t there a manual on - off switch on the unit itself?

Hi @Overlander, To avoid excessive discharge of your car battery, we recommend installing a circuit breaker or enabling the Grid Self-adaption mode. This will better protect your car battery and mitigate the impact of surges.

We’ve mentioned circuit breakers in our FAQ. Please refer to the attached screenshot for details.

Ok, so the Charger 1 has to be turned off by the supplied circuit breaker. Which is the complete opposite of the what the product description and FAQ states?

Circuit breakers are for surge protection and were never intended to be used as an on off switch for a device. In that regard, why wasn’t an on off switch built into the Charger 1 during development?

Please clarify, as no where in the manual does is indicate that you have to use the circuit breaker as an on off switch. And that it doesnt actually auto turn off after 30 minutes as clearly advertised?

After 12 hours the green indicator light with no power bank connected is still flashing a solid green once every 2.5 seconds approximately. And no where in the manual does it say this either. Indicating it is still drawing power from the battery.

Hi @Overlander, We truly value your feedback and understand how you feel.
It was never our intention to mislead customers. If our user manual has caused any confusion, we will certainly relay your concerns to our R&D department to see if an update to the manual is necessary.

If you do not plan to use the circuit breaker, could you please try enabling the Adaptive Mode and test if that helps?
Please let us know if it works.
