AC200MAX does not charge past 75%

Hello all!

Question - I have been using an AC200MAX now for a few months and have it powered primarily from solar. It’s been very gloomy in the past couple of days and finally I ran out of power.

So I plugged it into the AC adapter. I get 488W going in which seems normal until I get to 75% SOC and then the charger switches to green and stops charging.

Am I doing something wrong here? It should keep charging to 100% right?

Thanks!

Hi - I am fairly new here and have a AC200Max as well. I have been looking at some of the older posts and have saw ones where users had similar issues as yours. The solution was that the BMS needs to be recalibrated and so you need to discharge to 0% and then recharge to 100%. Supposedly doing this recalibrates the BMS. Also when recharging to 100%, dont stop or unplug the charger until the unit reaches 100%. Cheers.

I’ll give it a shot and let you know. Thanks!

That worked nicely. I just hope I do not have to do that very often. I was very concerned that after only a few months the battery was not going to charge more than 75%.

Great to hear that it worked. Would have been nice to have this included the owners manual .

So how did you discharge the unit ? Did you just plug stuff in and draw power off that way to zero then charge again ?

I discharged the unit by using a fairly constant draw, like a fan or a heater. I used a fan so it was around 150W.

Wait until the unit switches the A/C off.

After that - you should charge it with a STABLE source such as the AC charger so that it gets the same input all the time and do not unplug it until the charger turns off (light goes green).

Also don’t turn on AC or DC while charging. Just leave it to charge.

Some people reported having to do this twice but for me it was fine after I did it once.

Thanks for your reply - appreciated -

I fitted a 535w solar to van roof and drove 3.5 hours thinking the 82% charge would improve but was surprised to see it at flash from 45 to 68

Turns out the 45 was the ac240 and the 58 the combined charge with b210 included.

I think my pv in wasn’t ‘clicked’ meaning maybe loose connection which may have been the issue. Have since plugged pv in and it took it to 100% within a few hours so maybe issue is resolved

That said it’s never been to zero so it makes sense to do as you suggest to reset thanks
