AC180 Short No AC output

Yes, thanks, that’s what I was trying to say. If I just plug it in and later power things once the power goes out, it works. But we don’t always know when power is out (a renovation project ongoing) and I thought this would be great insurance, in case someone tripped a breaker.

Instead, the 180 shorted and almost cost me all the frozen stuff.

So, not useless, but not what I had hoped. And again the 70 never has a problem on the same grid, powering the router and things.

I see Bluetti is not chiming in here on this, either. Thanks for your responses, nice to know it’s probably their problem.

Continuing on this issue as I had another “SHORT” message, my next email said to put the Charging Mode to Silent, and they sent another firmware update. Will see if this has positive effects (posted for others with the same issue.)

"The new firmware DSP210205 has been sent to your SN: ACXXXX. Please do the upgrade at your earliest convenience to see if it helps.

You can find the silent mode under the Charging mode settings."

Bluetti support - How do we get the latest firmware pushed to our devices? I read where it was pushed to some members but then I’ve received no response and it’s not available via the app.

Have other members who posted after me (~7/19) received a response?

I went the long and slow route, by calling in, going through a call center to go over the issues, and then waiting for an email from support. You might try the chat again, if they respond? No guarantees this update will be effective. Good luck in getting a response.

yikes i might email them to get that firmware update but if you could let me know how it goes too - hate to waste so much time for firmware that doesnt do anything lol.

I have two AC180’s and one AC180P they all go into overload /short, with no AC output in a brownout or power off/on situation. You must go turn them off and back on to get the ac inverter back online. This happens all the time out in the woods where I live, where the power will go on and off, even on sunny days. All it takes is a squirrel fart too close to the power lines it seems. This renders all 3 of these pretty useless until this issue gets fixed, if it’s fixable. What do I need to do to try to get some use out of these 3 devices? Bluetti this is obviously a problem there are more and more people reporting it on reddit, and other public forums. Thanks!

Exactly same situation here. We went through all THREE of last year’s hurricanes here in North Florida, and had about 13 days of total power outages over the 3. I decided I was not going to do the big gas generator again, finding gas stations to feed it, but would get some power stations and some solar panels and be smarter about it when the next long outage hits. Bought 3 AC180’s two non P and one P version and all 3 are completely worthless if plugged into the AC mains. Any power blip and they go into overload shutting off whatever was on AC, and requiring physical intervention to bring back online. I’m really disappointed.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE thanks so much for the fw, problem hasn’t returned since! And please see the requests above. Thanks!

So far since they forced a firmware update down to the device I have not seen a short message, but honestly we’re in the middle of a reno (for which I had counted on the 180 protecting my freezer) and have kept the 180 plugged into the wall but not passing through to the freezer. I just won’t trust it until there is less going on.

As others have remarked, clearly there is a major issue with this battery, and I’m extremely disappointed. Not sure I can trust it at all, which makes the purchase useless.

Of course, the smaller Bluetti (AC70) that powers our wifi etc is plugged into the same main and has never had an issue.
