AC180 Short No AC output

Yes, thanks, that’s what I was trying to say. If I just plug it in and later power things once the power goes out, it works. But we don’t always know when power is out (a renovation project ongoing) and I thought this would be great insurance, in case someone tripped a breaker.

Instead, the 180 shorted and almost cost me all the frozen stuff.

So, not useless, but not what I had hoped. And again the 70 never has a problem on the same grid, powering the router and things.

I see Bluetti is not chiming in here on this, either. Thanks for your responses, nice to know it’s probably their problem.

Continuing on this issue as I had another “SHORT” message, my next email said to put the Charging Mode to Silent, and they sent another firmware update. Will see if this has positive effects (posted for others with the same issue.)

"The new firmware DSP210205 has been sent to your SN: ACXXXX. Please do the upgrade at your earliest convenience to see if it helps.

You can find the silent mode under the Charging mode settings."

Bluetti support - How do we get the latest firmware pushed to our devices? I read where it was pushed to some members but then I’ve received no response and it’s not available via the app.

Have other members who posted after me (~7/19) received a response?

I went the long and slow route, by calling in, going through a call center to go over the issues, and then waiting for an email from support. You might try the chat again, if they respond? No guarantees this update will be effective. Good luck in getting a response.

yikes i might email them to get that firmware update but if you could let me know how it goes too - hate to waste so much time for firmware that doesnt do anything lol.

I have two AC180’s and one AC180P they all go into overload /short, with no AC output in a brownout or power off/on situation. You must go turn them off and back on to get the ac inverter back online. This happens all the time out in the woods where I live, where the power will go on and off, even on sunny days. All it takes is a squirrel fart too close to the power lines it seems. This renders all 3 of these pretty useless until this issue gets fixed, if it’s fixable. What do I need to do to try to get some use out of these 3 devices? Bluetti this is obviously a problem there are more and more people reporting it on reddit, and other public forums. Thanks!

Exactly same situation here. We went through all THREE of last year’s hurricanes here in North Florida, and had about 13 days of total power outages over the 3. I decided I was not going to do the big gas generator again, finding gas stations to feed it, but would get some power stations and some solar panels and be smarter about it when the next long outage hits. Bought 3 AC180’s two non P and one P version and all 3 are completely worthless if plugged into the AC mains. Any power blip and they go into overload shutting off whatever was on AC, and requiring physical intervention to bring back online. I’m really disappointed.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE thanks so much for the fw, problem hasn’t returned since! And please see the requests above. Thanks!

So far since they forced a firmware update down to the device I have not seen a short message, but honestly we’re in the middle of a reno (for which I had counted on the 180 protecting my freezer) and have kept the 180 plugged into the wall but not passing through to the freezer. I just won’t trust it until there is less going on.

As others have remarked, clearly there is a major issue with this battery, and I’m extremely disappointed. Not sure I can trust it at all, which makes the purchase useless.

Of course, the smaller Bluetti (AC70) that powers our wifi etc is plugged into the same main and has never had an issue.

Hi @flaboye, Regarding this issue, we would like to know what your specific load is, and whether it indeed exceeds the load range of the AC180 or AC180P.
In addition, did any error occur on the app? If so, please tell us the specific error code. Then we will further investigate this matter.

By the way, please note that if you need my assistance, please @BLUETTI_CARE, otherwise, I might not see your message and be able to help you promptly.

Hi @Dink, Thank you for the update. We are very glad to hear that the problem has been resolved.
Your reminder is extremely important. We have taken note of this matter and will follow up on the above issues.

Hi thanks for the reply. No load, just simply plugged into mains. Or with a PC and two monitors drawing about 230 watts. In either scenario, if the power goes off and back on again, it enters an overload state and this is the error code the app shows:

E013 Grid Relay Error.

This requires intervention, as it never recovers itself.

I have tried grid adaptation, tried changing charging to silent, all the recommendations that all the other threads with people having the exact same problem with their 180’s have tried.

This is happening on two ac180’s and one ac180p. This does not happen on my ac50b, my ac180t, my elite 200 v2, my ac70p’s, ac70, or my ac2p. Only the 180’s. It also doesn’t happen on my ecoflow’s.

I don’t even care if it takes it 15 seconds to switch over, I just need them to not go into a fault. UPS capability at this point isn’t even important to me, just getting them functional.

Hi @flaboye, We believe this issue may be related to the firmware.
Could you please provide the SN codes and current firmware versions of your AC180 and AC180P?
If there is a new firmware available, please upgrade it first and then test again.

Hi thank you for replying. I do not recall any recent firmware, but I have the two AC180’s and AC180P information for you here. I will, however, plug them all into mains and see what happens, just in case I updated them recently and don’t remember doing so, (I have a few differnet models here) while I await your next reply.

Hi @flaboye, Thank you for the update. We have reported the issue to the technical department and applied for pushing a new firmware.

If the new firmware becomes available, it will be pushed within 24 hours. Once you receive the firmware update notification, please upgrade the device and conduct a test.

If no new firmware is released for this issue, we will contact you promptly once we receive a definite response from the technical department.

Hi @critten, Could you please let us know if there are any issues with your AC180 units?

Under normal circumstances, we roll out new firmware batches. When users see the blue upgrade icon, they can update the device on their own.

For relatively rare issues, we do not push firmware in batches. Instead, we send targeted firmware updates only to users who have encountered the specific problem. This approach allows us to resolve the issue for affected users without disturbing the majority.
For users who have not experienced the problem, receiving a separate firmware update would not provide any benefit.

i wouldnt be here if there wasn’t an issue. my ac180 shorts on any brownout or power surge. we are all here trying to get this fixed

Hi @critten, Thank you for your update. Now that we have confirmed the issue, we are more than happy to push the new firmware for you.

Could you please let us know the firmware version corresponding to each of these AC180 units? Once we have this information, we will arrange the firmware push specifically for your devices.

Ok just to update you, both of my 180’s and my one 180p got updates, and I’ve applied them. Thanks for that. Here’s to no more issues with the 180’s. I’ll know as soon as the power starts acting up shouldn’t take long.
