Look what was delivered today (Bluetti X20 Laptop Power Bank)

Today a parcel arrived with the Bluetti X20 portable laptop power bank. I won in the #DesignTheNextBluetti contest.

I thought I may as well share my first experiences. Bluetti did not ask or demand to write anything in return, but perhaps my experience can be of help to someone who is interested in the product.

A box was delivered by a friendly GLS delivery man. What would be in there?

Another box. Bluetti knows how to protect products for shipping.

Thick sturdy foam protects the power bank from bumps and drops. Included are an USB-C charging cable and a DC barrel plug output cable with plugs for many different laptop brands and types. Note there is not charging adaptor. You will need to use your own USB-C charger. I used the USB-C charger of one of my Dell laptops and it works fine.

Under the protective foam: The power bank itself.

Everything included in the box: The power bank, the cables, a manual and quality check certificate.

The ports of the X20

The display when charging.

Powering a Dell Latitude 5510 business notebook with the power bank using a light load, playing a YouTube video. The original laptop power supply is 19.5 V, but it takes the 20 V of the Bluetti without problems.

Powering a Dell Precision 7520 mobile Workstation with a CPU-heavy task. (Cinebench 2024)
The laptop’s original power supply is 19.5 V, but it takes the 20 volts of the X20 without problems. The laptop is not throttling and runs as it would run from utility power.

Running 3DMark FireStrike, a GPU heavy task on the mobile workstation. The laptop takes around 60 watts from the power bank and runs like on AC.

Heavy load test. Furmark burn in test on the GPU and CPU burner on the CPU at the same time. The laptop is not throttling and runs like on AC. The laptop takes around 110 watts from the power bank.

All tests started with a fully charged laptop battery and ended with a fully charged laptop battery. So the laptop ran from the power bank only and not the internal laptop battery.

I’m very happy with the results so far. This is a very capable power bank with enough power to feed performance laptops. The maximum wattage it can supply is 160 W on the DC plug.
