Passcode for Bluetooth connection

When the password is hardcoded into the firmware and each unit does the same, how is that different to no password?

I mean, i kinda get your point. Weak security is better than non, but i think the time to implement this feature is way to long for its actual benefits

In desperation, there is a workaround (which does not please everyone) : take an old android phone (n-1), install the Bluetti application, and connect to your Bluetti generator and leave the phone permanently connected : no one will be able to connect to your Bluetti and you have a sort of remote control for your bluetti at home/at the campsite.
And you can even install the “teamviewer remote”/“teamviewer” application on your “old phone dedicated to bluetti”/“and on the current phone” to remotely control your bluetti generator (if your old phone is connected to WIFI or is connected to 3G, 4G, LTE etc. …

Hard code per unit. Each unit will have different firmware “pushed” to it. Takes more time, but only a few customers are looking for this feature.

Ah okay. Make sense. As Massproduction “update”, i think its to complicated. The thing is, even when its not beeing enabled by default, everyone will ask for this update. Pretty sure this will end in some sort of chaos^^

Yes, it will be time consuming, but not that complicated. Each unit will have 4-5 digit passcode. From a business perspective this is a must do, in order to gain more customers and retain customers’ loyalty.

Since I don’t need to monitor my battery status all the time, how about a firmware update which allows user to turn /onoff the bluetooth using existing button. Is this feasible. I would rather have it turned off, than to have someone else turn it off when I am using them. Can you ask your engineers to see if this can be implemented.

To disable bluetooth completly, i see some big problems. Not from a security standpoint, but from a operating standpoint. Most, when not all units, dont have a hardware button for that. They rely on the App connection. Many things can be setup only through the App. When Cloud connection dont work and you disable bluetooth, how you wanna enable it again?

Hi @LN2023, I have conveyed your request to our R&D department, and they will discuss the feasibility of this feature.
However, I agree with @Selfmadestrom’s opinion that disabling Bluetooth could cause many operational issues, with potentially unforeseen consequences.
