Paralleling dc from 30 amp outlet with another dc source

I am incorporating an AC200 unit into an existing camper. The camper has the typical ac power cord feeding into the converter which supplies DC to the camper and charges the battery.
I would like to eliminate the battery and utilize the 30-amp dc output on the AC200 to power stuff while driving down the road. When I get to the campground, I would plug in the cord which would energize the dc in the old converter essentially putting the 30-amp dc outlet in parallel with the 12 volts from the old converter. Is this a problem? If so, could I put in a diode to block voltage coming from the old converter?
