I am using 10 Renogy N-type 100 watt panels wired in series and parallel to provide up to 25 amps and up to 43 volts open circuit. In reality, the Bluetti Elite 200 V2 will always limit current to 20 amps regardless of availability. It’s okay to have excess capacity available in terms of amperage. As you know voltage has a hard limit at 60 VDC. Yes, I think there is a problem with the algorithm for the MPPT charging system. I frequently see the PV voltage drop significantly and thus lower the input wattage from the PV. The algorithm seems to track current and not maximal wattage. Bluetti has not yet been helpful in answering these questions.
Hello,
An other user has seen exactly the same behaviour.
By cross-referencing our use cases, we probably have found the conditions in which the problem happens.
- The solar panels are oversized regarding the MPPT input (not in voltage but in current).
1.a. In my case I have 2 panel in parallel for at total of Vmax=36V; IMax=26A
1.b. In an other user case, he has VMax=43V and IMax=25A. - When the MPPT works at 20A (internal limitation), then it happens it fails to track the PowerMax.
We suppose the 20A limitation part mess up with the MPPT algorithm.
Could you investigate?
Hi @frncschrnvl, Thank you for the update. It is true that the Elite 200 V2 limits the PV charging current to 20A.
However, we don’t believe this will affect the MPPT algorithm. We have passed your opinions on to the technical department for analysis and will get in touch with you once we receive their response.
Hi @frncschrnvl, We believe pushing the new firmware will help resolve the issue. The firmware version is ARM v218512.
Please upgrade the firmware. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.
Please let us know if it works.
Hi, my SN is V22518000098860
I haven’t received the update yet.
It still says IOT V8024.11 and ARM v2185.09.
P.S. I use a Renogy 400W Lightweight Portable panel
Hi @sergio71, Now I have applied to upgrade your system to our IT department. They will push the latest version of firmware to your unit in 24 hours.
Please upgrade the firmware tomorrow. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.
Please let us know if it works.
By the way, please note that if you need my assistance, please @BLUETTI_CARE, otherwise, I might not see your message and be able to help you promptly.
