EB150 and 2xSP120. Panels have to be fully deployed to charge?

Hi, I have this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XNKQWKQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

EB150-BL+2*SP120

Newbie question, but it seems that the solar panels only work if all 4 sections are unfolded. Is this normal? I was hoping to be able to still charge with 3 sections exposed and one still folded.

Thanks.

@fgdgafdf The solar panel must be fully extended as a complete unit in order to function properly. Please be aware that if partially folded (covered) there is a high risk of light spots or fires.

I imagine they are wired in series, which if any panel in the series is in the shade, it will pull down the voltage of the whole string. The Bluetti has MPPT charge controllers, which work best with the higher voltage series-wired panels.

It is normal for most portable solar panels to not properly work if entire sections are shaded or still folded. If you’re tight on space, I recommend trying to find a better location for the panels.

Thanks for the info.

Odd question. Would it be possible to remove one of the panels?
