The AC300 will not allow me to charge it when i plug it into an A/C outlet when generator is running. Any ideas on why it wont charge.
Hi @dean.mooney
welcome to the bluetti community forum
You mean, that you want to charge you AC300 with a generator? In this case, please activate “Grid Self-adaption”. Also make sure to use the AC Charging cable from the AC300, plug it in the side of the unit and tie it for optimal contact.
greetings
Erik
how do you enable it on the console? I tied on the app and it keeps going back to disable
I think you only can activate this feature in the App. If you are unable to activate, there may something not right with your unit. But cant really tell, what it is.
The Bluetti Staff returned on 4th February. They may can help you better with this case
This was discussed in other posts
The generator without a load will not run “clean” enough for the Bluetti, the voltage and hz will be out of acceptable parameters, you need to run the generator with a load on it.
I have a class c motorhome with an Onan 4000 watt onboard generator, I can charge my AC300 (2- b300 batteries) with a load on the generator. An electric heater at 1000 watts works well. This is charging at 15 amps, 1800 watts.
It also charged with the microwave on until the micro stopped.
Thank you. That appears to have worked.
So any load? The load has to be on thru the entire charge process? Run my AC I guess? want to use on a boat generator, probably similar to Onan.
I have charged mine with a Honda EU5000 inverter generator with no other load. Also with a Honda eu2000.
The Honda EU1000 would not work.
I can only explain my experience with an Onan generator on a RV.
