Make the Bluetti App usable on PC and MAC and not just phone/tablets only!!
Thank you for the suggestion, but there is no such planning for the time being.
I’ll let you know once the tech team gets to work on the PC-based app.
The iOS app is already available for iPhone/Ipad devices. A small app update can be made to make it usable on MacOS…?
Sad that a company thinks theirs customers do everything on a smart phone.
Maybe our next power station should have better connectivity and from a company that wants to keep their customers.
My mobile phone just broke and now I can’t change any settings for the next week or 2 before I get a new one. It’s unbelievable that you can’t use your computer to access the device. We need a computer app!
Intending to purchase a AC180 for home use I asked Bluetti Sales about using the app without smartphone, and on a Linux machine.
Response was the AC180 can operate normally without a smartphone. It supports Bluetooth connection, which allows to turn the output on/off, check the power level, and access other information via the app — but this is entirely optional. But the AC180 does NOT support operation on a Linux computer platform at present.
This would imply the AC180 can be controlled by PC using Windows.
It would also imply it could be used with Wine on a Linux machine.
So I have asked Bluetti for comment.
I appreciate the AC180 is perfectly suitable for outdoor use. So using a smart phone.
But I think it would hugely advantagious if an instruction for home use with PC were available.
Even better if a Linux version of the app were available.
I cannot understand why Bluetti thinks that access to these devices are not necessary through a web browser or webpage if they don’t want to build a standalone program.
@BLUETTI There’s a program called Bluestacks, it is an Android emulator for MS Windows. I use it with the Wikicamps AU App, which was recently removed from Windows App Store Support and now only available on Android. (I might add, I paid for the Android version of Wikicamps and also the Windows version. Removing it from Windows feels like they stole my money.)
- I downloaded the Bluetti App from within Bluestacks from the Google Play Store and installed it.
- I then tried to connect to the Elite 100 via Bluetooth from the App, in Bluestacks, from my PC. For some reason the Elite 100 v2 although found by my laptops Bluetooth, would not connect.
- However, the E100 also has WiFi. Using the home WiFi network on the laptop and having already connected the E100 to the same network during recent testing, I tried it again. The Elite 100 was turned on manually at the unit. I then logged into the App on my laptop. I found that I needed my mobile phone Bluetooth connection to change the E100’s connection from Bluetooth to Cloud, which I did. SUCCESS, I was able to connect to the E100 from my laptop, turn DC then AC on and OFF. I could also access Settings via the Cog icon, change charge settings, eco mode etc. So, full control from my Windows 11 laptop via Wi-Fi.
- As I also travel and can use my mobile phone provider data to WiFi Hotspot as well as Starlink, I believe a Network reset to my chosen network for the Elite 100, will allow full control when away from home and providing I leave one network with the Elite and have access to another when mobile, I can control it anywhere from laptop.
But, why would you? a mobile phone is smaller, uses less power and is more convenient than carrying a laptop, lol.
As to the Bluetooth not working, there is obviously a disparity somewhere and I don’t know what it is.
So workplaces do not allow the use of mobile phones during work hours, but you may still have access to a workstation with internet access.
Best to just build a web server into the power station (at least the ones with wifi), so the user can just point a web browser at it instead of using an app.
Also, implement a real API for the power station. There was a survey about that a while back (Official Bluetti Device API Survey) which was baffling. The survey listed a bunch of power station features and asked for each feature, should the API give access to this? Duh!!! Yes, the API should give access to all the features, or anyway all the features that the user can control from the mobile phone app. Again, eliminate the need for the app.
