AC200MAX turning AC OUTPUT off & on by itself

I have an AC200Max that has started to turn off the AC OUTPUT by itself then turn it back on whilst at the same time disconnecting itself from the PV INPUT then reconnecting itself.
This all seems to occur when the battery becomes fully charged from 99% to 100%, causing the trigger for this faulty.
If the battery level is lower and therefore constantly charging, i.e. not achieving 100% the AC200Max doesn’t behave this way.
The PV solar input is around 700W maximum.
The AC200Max doesn’t turn itself off just the AC OUTPUT and at the same time disconnects the PV INPUT, then turns the AC OUTPUT back on by itself and reconnects the PV INPUT.
The unit was purchased here in Australia in April 2022.
The unit is running with ECO mode switched off.
The load is commonly a dehumidifier and pending where it is in the drying cycle can vary in load from showing 0W to 280W on the AC200Max display.
The AC200Max has only started to behave this way recently.
Hoping it is a timing issue when everything aligns just in a correct order that causes the issue.
The AC200Max is fully cycled every 3 months to keep the BMS calibrated.
Hoping a software fix can correct it.

Hi @DJR, We would like to know if the issue only occurs during solar charging. Does it happen during AC charging as well?
We would like to suggest that you recalibrate the battery.
Please follow the steps below:

  1. Please discharge all the power (charge AC & DC appliances with the power station till it is out of power and turns off automatically).
  2. Please charge it again, please do not load any device when charging it, and do not interrupt it while in charge.
  3. Once the power is 100% fully charged, turn off the machine, and leave it the whole day.
Please let us know if it does help.

Yes it only seems to do this when solar charging as mentioned.

I also stated that I fully discharge and charge, as you described, this unit every 3 months so what are you suggesting is that I may need to fully cycle this more often?

Seriously!

Hi @DJR, We are preparing to push new firmware to your AC200MAX, ARM v4008.09, to resolve this issue. It will be completed within 24 hours, so please perform the upgrade tomorrow. Make sure not to connect any load during the upgrade. We recommend that you recalibrate the battery after the upgrade.
Please follow the steps below:

  1. Please discharge all the power (charge AC & DC appliances with the power station till it is out of power and turns off automatically);
  2. Please charge it again, please do not load any device when charging it, and do not interrupt it while in charge.
  3. Once the power is 100% fully charged, turn off the machine, and leave it the whole day.
Please let us know if the upgrade and recalibration resolve the issue.

We advise you to recalibrate after the upgrade and do not ask you to recalibrate frequently. Calibrating once every three months is a good habit. It’s very beneficial for the long-term maintenance of the battery, and this practice doesn’t need to be changed.

Hi @DJR, we still haven’t gotten your answer, can you let us know if any update?
I hope it does help.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Yes, many thanks, I have received the firmware update but as present have not had the opportunity to download due to system usage.

Hoping to do this over the coming weekend.

Just a thought, and I don’t have my AC200Max in front of me, but on the AC300, if you go to the “Data” menu, there is an “Alarm History” option, and that should show if you have had any errors lately.

Thanks for your comments however there is nothing ever displayed in the Alarm History.

Have had the opportunity to install the new firmware and am presently testing it.
Will let you know how it goes.
thanks.

Sorry for the delay, but I have been testing the new firmware thoroughly and unfortunately the same issue is still occurring.
Also confirming that the AC200Max does have both Solar around 700-900W and AC connected, well the AC is actually and additional 400W of solar via a DC Enhancer D050S.

Further information for Buletti engineers.
This doesn’t seem to behave this way if you have the B230 expansion batteries powered on in the system.
I have 2 B230’s connected all the time, however I don’t always have them switched on.
Today I had both powered on and the previous mentioned behaviour did not occur.
Hoping a further firmware push to me can fix the problem.

Just wondering if anybody at Bluetti has any thoughts on this please?

Hello Bluetti, any response would be appreciated!

You might want to use @BLUETTI_CARE so they are notified. They don’t always read every post./thread.

Hi @DJR, This issue is very rare, and unfortunately, we don’t have a firmware solution for this kind of problem.

We recommend you contact customer service to arrange for a repair. If you’re unsure how to find the appropriate customer service platform, please send us a message with your order number and email address, and we’ll assist you in connecting with the customer service team.

Thank you for the reminder and response, @rgb. Yes, without @BLUETTI_CARE, I might miss your message.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE and @rgb thanks for your replies.

Referencing this issue, as Bluetti had previously indicated it was a firmware update that was required, I am a little unsure why now it seems that I am being advised that the unit is faulty and needs to be returned.

Maybe further investigation by a software engineer at Bluetti would assist.

I am an electronic engineer and not stating for one minute I understand all the ins and outs of the design of the Buletti products, but this issue really sounds more like a software issue than hardware.

Maybe as the AC200Max has now been retired from the Bluetti range, there is no time available to further investigate an issue with an older unit?

Hoping this is not the case as I have many older Bluetti products and would like to think this is not the case for them as well.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE, further information which may help with this issue.
I have never been at the unit screen when this situation occurs until today.
I noted an alarm error code of “029 NTC Error” displayed on the unit once the unit had switched off the AC Output and also noted it had switched off the Solar Input although available at the time.
Without my intervention it cleared the error and switched back on the Solar Charging but obviously not the AC Output by itself.
The unit was at 94% capacity and had an AC load of approximately 200w connected to it.
If I disconnect the Solar Charging and just have charging via the AC Input the unit functions correctly.
This only started occurring after the latest firmware upgrade several months ago.
Hoping this extra information will assist.

Hi @DJR, We previously attempted to resolve the issue by updating the firmware. However, after testing, we found that the new firmware didn’t help. Therefore, we recommend contacting customer support to arrange a repair.

As for the 029 NTC error, it indicates a temperature-related issue. Please confirm the ambient temperature where the AC200MAX is located. Additionally, power off the unit and leave it in a suitable temperature environment for 3 hours, then try turning it on again. Does this help?
