AC200Max 58.8V/8A charging port and Pecron Smart Car Charger

Greetings All - Started building a system for my truck camper based on the AC200Max. Pretty simple system but wanted to ask some advice from those who know way more than I do. My question(s) really boil down to whether or not the Pecron Smart Car Charger (DC1242-500) can be plugged into the 58.8V/8A charging port. The output prom the Pecron is 42V BUT output amps are 13max. I am a bit slow on all things electrical so not sure if the 200max will limit the amps coming in or I will run the risk of melting something. I have also thought about investing in the D050S DC Charging Enhancer but I think that is limited to 10A inputs. Others have covered connecting the Pecron to the PV port (10-145V/15A; great video by jasonoid on yt) but I am trying to maximize the solar input side and the car charger will always max at 500W.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Unfortunately, the dc1242-500w won’t allow you to charge the ac200max via the DC input (dc7909) because, as you said, the voltage is too low (42v), so you need at least a voltage of 57v - 58,8v.

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply. I was operating under the assumption that the 58.8V input was a maximum. Any idea if it would work through the charge enhancer?

Some ideas :
If you use the d050s directly from your 12V source… you’ll be limited I think to the famous 8A, so the d050s will supply max 96w to your ac200max.
If you use your pecron dc1242-500 to power the d050s, which will then power the ac200max, it’s better but not perfect, because the d050s will limit the intensity to 10A on his input, so at output you’ll have around (slightly less) 42V x 10A = 420 W max. You have a solution just under 500W, but you’ll need to buy both the pecron and the d050s.

Another solution is to use the pecron to power the solar input of the ac200max. As you also want to power the ac200max with the solar input, you’ll need a Solar (Automatic) Transfer Switch.
