Hi @SpareJoe , I have informed your request to the engineers. However, our product development team needs to discuss its feasibility.
I know that when my ipad is connected to it through Bluetooth, my iphone can’t. It can only connect through wifi.
It seems only one device at a time can use Bluetooth to connect to it. While that doesn’t make it as secure as with a password, nobody else should be able to connect to it. Of course, if you’re away from home with your bluetooth device, then that could be a problem.
.
One workaround would be to pick up some cheapo phone/tablet that will stay connected to it with bluetooth, and leave that device close to the AC180P. You’ll be using wifi anyway if you’re away from home. I’m a packrat and still have my old iphone, using it as a clock by my TV, so I could secure my system by letting it stay connected to the old iphone with bluetooth.
If you cannot see the menu that allows you to set up Bluetooth connection password in your app, you may create an bluetti account and add your AC180 to your account. Then you may see the Bluetooth connection password menu in your app, which is not available when the offline connection with AC180 is used.
@scott1976 It doesn’t work with older stations. If yours has this feature, it doesn’t mean all stations have it.
I’m wondering if there is hardware solution? I saw on a YouTube tear-down video that there is a small separate circuit board inside the top of the unit that is used for the wireless charging function.
Does that circuit board also contain the Bluetooth antenna or the Bluetooth circuitry Ala a Bluetooth dongle? If so…it could simply be disconnected to disable the Bluetooth function altogether. Or is the Bluetooth circuity and antenna located on the main circuit board?
the videos are too fast and the resolution is not good, I couldn’t locate the Bluetooth antenna.
The only “easy” solution I’ve found (for my AC200max) is to take an old phone, install the bluetti app and connect it to your AC180, leaving it permanently connected so that no one can connect to your AC.
Same here. I’ll let you know what I find after checking my unit.
