AC180 feels like it has half the capacity

I’m having this problem where my AC180 gets to 50%, it would go straight to 0% and shuts off. When charging, it would charge normal from 0 to 40%. Then it’ll go from 40 to 100% in minutes. It’ll stop charging once it gets to 100%. I’ve tried to recalibrate the SOC by discharging to 0% and recharging to 100% four times now and the same pattern above persists. It feels like I got half the capacity it should now. Wondering if anyone have this issue and if there was a fix? Purchased 8/23. I see people have newer firmware but my app says everything is up to date.

Hi @manng, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
We have requested to push the latest BMS firmware for you.
Our IT department will push the latest firmware to your unit in 24 hours.
Please upgrade the firmware tomorrow. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.

After that, please try to complete the cycle of discharge and charge to correct the SOC. The problem will be resolved.
Please follow the steps below to recalibrate it:

  1. Please discharge all the power (charge AC & DC appliances with the power station) until the SOC is 0%, turn off the machine, and leave it for 3 hours till it cools down.
  2. Please charge it again, please do not load any device when charging it, and do not interrupt it while charging.

Please let us know if it does help.
If not, please contact us for further service.

Hello.

I have updated the firmware and tried several different times to recalibrate the SOC. The same issue still persist. What are the next steps?

@manng Elaborate how you were recalibrating the battery. Did you fully discharge the battery until it reached 0%? Or did you wait until the unit shut itself off. When you recharged it did you use solar, or did you charge from the wall in your home only? When you recharge the battery, be sure to do so ONLY over a consistent power source like your home electricity, and not from solar panels. My AC180 needed to be recalibrated after staying in storage for too long. I recharged it from the wall using Standard charging to push a constant 280 or so watts to the device until it recalibrated. If you were attempting to recharge the battery over solar that would explain possibly why it has not worked. The battery voltage between say 40% and 80% is very nominal, so that’s why it may jump from say 80% to 40% in an instant. Your AC180 has a 4 year warranty so likely this is a no-brainer warranty service for you.
