Having just purchased an AC130 I have been reading about slow vehicle charge rates, just wondering I have several spare DC-DC chargers is it possible to use one to speed up charging ? would the AC130 be ok with a non lithium setting on the DC-DC
Short answer - No. First I assume you mean the AC180? The AC180 has a maximum amperage of 10Amps when the voltage is over 32VDC. Under that it is around 8A
A DC-DC usually charges at around 14 to 14.5VDC which means you will get no more than using a car cig socket and burn extra power to drive the DC-DC.
This has been covered in other threads, the only way to increase vehicle charge is via the Bluetti Charger 1 or, as I did before it was released, power a pure sine wave inverter from an auxiliary vehicle battery. (Victron 375W, I had in the shed and set charge rate to Silent mode)
The other less preferred option is to use a voltage step up device to get over the 32V threshold. i.e. 48V @ 10A = 480W, but that will pull 40A and they get very hot.
Yes I have spent hours on you tube with lots of alternative options, probably going with an Etaker F1000 due to combined solar & alternator inputs, thanks
