I have an Elite 100, connected to a 245W PV panel.
I notice that in the morning, the Elite 100 does not turn on at dawn when the PV power starts. Even when PV is available, it just never turns on.
However if I unplug & replug the panel, it does then turn on and start to charge, so it seems this issue is that it does not start from the very slow rise-time of the power from the sun rising.
There is a secondary issue, the Elite 100 does not turn off even if the PV input power is below the unit’s internal draw, causing the battery to be discharged unnecessarily.
Is all of the above normal behavior or am I doing something wrong?
Regarding your question, after unplugging and plugging in the charger, the customer can check the voltage of the solar panel in the app. If the voltage is relatively high, it may indicate an issue with the activation circuit, and repair will be necessary.
Additionally, regarding the secondary issue, even if the photovoltaic input power is lower than the internal power consumption of the device, the Elite 100 will not shut down, which can lead to unnecessary battery discharge. When the device is activated by input voltage, it cannot be turned off, and this behavior is normal.
