Using the EP 500 Pro on a boat in off-grid mode

Hello, I purchased an EP 500Pro to install on a yacht along with 1200 Watt PV panels.
The boat has a Cummins generator installed, model 4MDKBH-59333 - marine version 4000VA 230 V.
The solar panels charge the EP 500, but not enough for the entire electricity consumption of the boat. The battery needs to be recharged through the generator.
The problem appeared when I started the generator, which is connected via the original AC input cable to the generator output.
The EP 500 Pro registers the presence of the Grid, but does not start charging. After a few seconds, charging begins and reaches the current set in the menu, but only for a few seconds and then turns off charging again. This process repeats itself at random intervals.
I suspect that the EP500 Pro probably does not like one of the parameters of the generated voltage.
However, I measure, and the EP 500 also shows me on its display that the frequency of the voltage from the generator is between 49.6 to 50.05 Hz. The voltage is between 228 to 237 V
Everything seems normal and the EP 500 turns the charging on and off constantly.
The generator is very stable and I only connect the EP500 to it at 7A, which is about 1600 W .
Please tell me what the problem is in your case. I have worked with other UPS for servers and I know that some models can be adjusted for less sensitivity to inaccuracies in the supply voltage.
I updated all the firmware through the application.
No result.

Hi @anton_obretenov, We truly care about the issue you’re experiencing.
Could reducing the input current help resolve this? Additionally, we’d like to know:
Are there any error messages during charging? If so, what is the error code?
Is the EP500PRO able to charge normally from the grid?

We’re concerned that this generator might not be compatible with the EP500PRO. To assist further, please provide the device’s SN number and the current firmware version
We’ll attempt to push a firmware update to address the issue.

Hello,
unfortunately I’m no longer on the boat and will be there in a month.
Before I got off the boat I took a screenshot of my phone screen through which I updated the firmware. I’ll attach it. I have a screenshot of the display of the incoming power parameters from the generator.
There are no alarms or errors!
I noticed that when I returned to shore and switched the power supply to the one on the dock, a normal charge began for about 1 hour. Then the charge was turned off before the battery was 100% charged. I immediately understood the reason. There was apparently a momentary overload at the dock and the voltage had dropped to 204 V. Apparently this was not OK for the EP 500 Pro and it temporarily stopped charging. This provoked me to do a more accurate test with the generator. I noticed that the generator voltage is constantly around 235 to 237 V. When the EP 500 Pro was turned on for a second or 2 the voltage from the generator jumped to 241 - 242 V and the EP 500 turned off the charge immediately.
Probably the problem is with the voltage. Unfortunately I can’t adjust the voltage from the generator down. Also changing it will be very difficult. If you think it is not dangerous for the EP 500 we can try with a firmware that will expand the voltage range to solve the problem
