Great forum that I sort of stumbled into during google and utube explorations about my newly purchased 200 max.
I will apologize in advance for the newbie question that I am not sure of .
RE:the 15 amp (input) solar charging limit , how does that limit me when looking to buy solar panels ?
I am understanding the open circuit voltage limit part and how paying attention to the specs on back of panels and be careful not to exceed 145 v, but can someone please explain how this 15amp input factors in to my solar choices in the near future ?
I will thank you in advance as well and look fwd . getting and hopefully soon giving some good advice .
You can connect panels that exceed the 15 amp input limit of the Bluetti but the Bluetti will only accept a maximum of 15 amps. Any higher potential output that the panels put out will not be allowed in. No harm in that though as your panels will almost never put out their full rated amperage. During less than perfect sunlight (the norm) you will still have decent panel output. This is commonly referred to as over paneling. For example: If you have a maximum input on the Bluetti of 1000 watts, having 1500 to 2000 watt panel capacity will result in you actually receiving the full 1000 watt capacity more often.
Hi @sprinter
Amps are getting pulled from the Powerstation. Its just take as much as it needs. Voltage get pushed from the Solarpanel. Here you need to take care to not exceed the maximum supported voltage of the MPPT. You need to calculate always with the highest voltage on the Solarpanel which is the open circuit voltage or VOC. If you want to be save, plan a 10% puffer.
