Unable to turn on EB55

I am unable to turn on and use the EB55 12V dc power supply, even though it is fully charged.

I bought an EB55 in November 2022 from Amazon. I have used the battery successfully quite a bit over the past 2 years to power a telescope, mount and camera. I was preparing to take the scope out tonight and tried to check the charge on the EB55 (which I had fully charged after its last use about 2 weeks ago). However, the EB55 did not respond to pressing any of the buttons on the control panel. I plugged the EB55 into its charger and the display lit up and indicated that the battery was fully charged but as soon as I disconnected it, the display went dark and, as before, the EB55 would not respond to any button presses. There were no errors indicated on the display while it was lit. I plugged it in again several times and left it connected to the charger for some time but as soon as I disconnected it, the display went dark and the EB55 still will not respond to any button presses.

I saw a YouTube video online by someone who was able to restore their Bluette EB3A by taking the battery apart and disconnecting and reconnecting some internal connectors. But in that case, the unit was displaying the “short” error message on the front panel. My unit is not displaying any error messages.

I sent an email to service@bluettipower.com but expect it will take some time to get a response.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi @bogsat, It seems that you have already contacted customer support. Could you please provide us with the ticket number so that we can investigate further?
This does appear to be a hardware fault. If you can provide an video will be very helpful.

I have received a response from Customer Support but I only have a Request number, I have not received a Ticket number yet. I was hoping to get some advice from the user community on what might be causing this issue, while I wait for Customer Support to decide if they can help. Since I don’t see my message posted yet, it appears that you are preventing my request from being posted on the forum board, is that correct? I am on plenty of other Forums and will start communicating with them if you won’t post it here. Thanks.

Hi @bogsat, This seems to be a misunderstanding; we are not preventing you from posting. The reason we request the ticket number is to avoid repeated inquiries about the specific issue details. Additionally, it allows us to review and monitor our service process to ensure it provides you with the best convenience. It’s a way to save your time.

From your description, this issue seems to involve hardware failure. Does holding the AC button for an extended time produce any response? Besides AC charging, does PV charging or car charging work?

Could you record a video demonstrating the issue, upload it to a cloud drive, and share the link with us? We will investigate the problem further.

Apologies, I am new to this forum and was expecting to see my post appear in the “New” or “Latest” and assumed it was not posted when I didn’t see it appear there. I still don’t see it posted in either, but I do now see it in the EB Series category.

Hi @bogsat, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
Rest assured, the post has been published successfully.
We’d also like to know if you have received a response from customer service. If you have any feedback about our service, please feel free to contact us at any time.
We are more than happy to follow up on this matter.
