I just purchased an AC180.
Unfortunately, the unit could not charge via solar.
In the app, it shown only voltage, no amp.
There were some clicking sounds came out of it.
Here are the spec for my rigid pv:
Rated Power:400W
Open Circuit Voltage:46V (Vmp 40V)
Short Circuit Current:10.38A (Imp 10.0A)
As far as I know, the AC180 can accept input solar charge 500W max, VOC 12-60VDC, 10A.
Did I choose wrong panel?
Please help.
Thank you in advance
I don’t have any good solutions, but a couple of quick questions.
Is the AC180 at 100%?
If the OCV is 46V and Vmp is 40V, but it’s only showing 35.4V, was it too cloudy or the panel not at a good angle?
If you have a volt meter, with the panel disconnected from the AC180, what voltage do you read from the panel with the meter?
Hi @Bodi_Bot, We have already reached out to you on other platforms and will continue to follow up on this matter.
Here, we are repeating our previous response. Please don’t worry, your solar panels are within the specifications. As long as the VOC of the solar panel is within the input range of the AC180, it should charge normally.
Could you please provide the SN (serial number) of the AC180 and the current firmware version? Also, if you could shoot a video showing the charging performance, it would be very helpful.
We initially suspect that the issue might be due to insufficient sunlight input. Could you check the weather and adjust the angle of the solar panels according to the direction of direct sunlight?
