SP200 solar panel failure

Just had a second panel fail on me. On this one it looks like there’s a tiny burn mark under a small delamination, see photos. It was in series with another SP200 which is still OK so what ever happened to this one didn’t affect the other fortunately. The first one last summer didn’t have any evidence of failure, it just stopped working. Bluetti was great and replaced it quickly. I’m probably out of luck on this one as it’s about 2 1/2 years old.

Hello

It looks like a hotspot… if you want to prevent it next time…

@eric102 It may be caused by uneven heating, please make sure there is no obstruction.

Thanks, good info. I wonder how many people clean their rooftop panels every 2 weeks to get the bird droppings off?

No obstructions other than the normal passing clouds. I don’t use the SP200’s very often so they are always out of the weather and kept clean. When deployed they are on a portable rack which keeps them in the full sun and well ventilated.
