Should I always use grid Self-adaptation mode?

I have an Apex300 with a BK300 expansion battery. I was reading about grid Self-adaptation mode, seems like this would be something that would be good to always have on? Is there a disadvantage to having it on?

My unit is plugged into a 50amp 240V outlet at all times, I have components that are running from the unit at all times, a couple computers and a few lights in the house. If we have an extended outage I plan to keep the unit charged and use pass through power from a generator. When using a generation this certainly seems like you would want it turned on, but I didn’t know about when powering the unit from grid power.

I wish the manuals went more in depth about these settings and when they are best to be used and not used.

Hi @JoshH

The only disadvantage you have is slower UPS times. So if you really rely on fast UPS switchting, i would keep it off. Otherwise you can have it always on

Thanks, I did not realize the UPS time is slower, that is really good to know.

Since the main reason for this is so my wife can work from home without any power interruption I will probably keep it off, but if I’m using my generator to charge or provide pass through power I will probably turn it on.
