SHORT light comes on, devices turn off

The AC180 has been on for the seven days since it arrived and has been working perfectly. Briefly, today the red SHORT circuit alert light came on (steady, not blinking), and power to the AC devices shut off (it was being used as a UPS). The unit was at 92% instead of 100%.
.
This was a problem because the devices were off all day, I wasn’t home, and my wife didn’t know why things were off. Also, the devices powered by the AC180 need to stay on without interruption (one reason I bought the AC180). There were no changes to anything. The devices were only drawing 38 Watts.
.
I turned the unit off and then on again, and it is working fine now.
.
I need to understand what happened. If there’s any chance this is going to happen again, I will (regretfully) return the AC180 to Amazon.
.
What happened and is it likely to happen again?
.
Thanks!

You have obviously (from the attached pic) had multiple devices plugged in. My first action, where it me, would be to plug in one device, leave it working for a day or 2 and see if all is ok. Then every day or 2 thereafter add another device. If the short occurs again, it’s likely the last device you plugged in.

If they all continue to work without fault, its just “one of those unexplained happenings”, lol.

As with any fault with a combination of devices, unless you are a tech expert, the simple action is, process of elimination. It may be the AC180, but I very much doubt it.

My 508lt fridge works perfectly either from the AC180 off grid, or pass through UPS, along with everything else it has been used with, except… The 90lt cheap bar fridge does not play well and It is the fridge, not the AC180. The 90lt has no issue with grid use, but here we get 241VAC on grid, whereas the 180 outputs 231VAC. My only conclusion is, the small fridge does not like the voltage reduction.

Yeah the idea to experiment is a good one, but the problem has only happened once. If it failed once a day, your test would be a good one.

My choice is returning it for a replacement within the 30 days, or chancing that it will never happen again.
