Reduced input (130w) from 400w panel Elite 200 v2

Greetings, (not sure if I’m on the right forum for the Elite 200-please let me know)

I’m on my second Bluetti Elite 200 v2 after returning the first, and the same issue of diminished input from a 400w panel persists with the second. With my Chinese Twelseavan 200w panel, I’m getting 125-130w input, which is exactly where its supposed to be, and when I test it with my multimeter, watts X amps=125. However, with my 400w Renogy portable suitcase panel, whenever I plug it into either the first or second Bluetti unit, I’m getting only about 130w input, when it should be delivering at least 300w. I have tested the 400W panel with my multimeter 5x, and called Renogy tech support 2x, and multimeter testing watts X amps=330, so Renogy tech support assures me there is no issue with my panel, and my own multimeter testing supports that. The likelihood of having 2 defective Bluetti power stations in a row seems microscopic, so I’m convinced there is some setting issue on the Bluetti that is restricting the input. I worked with a Bluetti tech on the first one, doing about 4 different interventions, and that didnt fix the problem, so he concluded it was defective. Now that the second unit is doing the exact same thing, I’m thinking there is some issue with the settings, because the unit is capable of up to 1000w input. On round 2, I did adjust the PV settings from screenshots I was sent, but nothing more. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone with a powerstation where I can test the 400w panel. Bluetti tech support is telling me to box it and return it, but I’ve spent so much time on this, and I really like all its features, and am trying to make it work. I’m open to any ideas/suggestions. TIA.

Hi @RC123, Thank you for choosing the new Elite 200 V2. We agree with your observation - it’s highly unlikely for two new units to exhibit identical issues simultaneously.

Since you’ve already contacted our support team, could you share your service ticket number? This will allow us to:

  1. Review the information you’ve already provided;
  2. Conduct a thorough case analysis;
  3. Develop targeted solutions.

We’re committed to resolving this matter promptly.

Thanks for reaching out, and offering more help–I appreciate that–I’m really trying to figure this out.

BTW-I no longer have the 1st unit, which was returned to you, so the problem with the two units wasn’t simultaneous–it is consecutive, but identical with both.
I think the ticket for this one is 258573. My prior unit’s ticket was 249380.
My Amazon order for this one is # 111-6600993-9849011
Model v22449000771897
Let me know if you need anything else. Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought the 400w renogy portable suitcase was a more popular 400w panel, so I would think this issue may have come up before.

Thanks

Hi @RC123, We have gathered the order and email information. To protect your privacy, we recommend that you edit your latest comment and remove the Amazon order number.

We attempted to search for your solar panel specifications but could not find details such as short-circuit current.

Could you take a photo of the nameplate on your solar panel so we can review its exact parameters?

We noticed that the maximum voltage of this solar panel is 67.5V. If its maximum power reaches 400W, the corresponding maximum current should be around 6A. Is that correct?

We would like to know the actual input current of the solar panel. You previously mentioned testing it with a multimeter—could you provide a video or photo to help us verify the readings?

Meanwhile, our R&D team will also discuss this matter, and we will follow up with you once we receive their response.

Just a preliminary check: have you checked that the solar DC input is set to PV and not to “others” see the image below, you should see a solar panel on the screen of your Elite.
