Good morning everyone, sorry but I have a problem like this:
I haven’t used my bluetti ac300 for 6 months and the battery has run out completely. I put it on charge but the display doesn’t turn on. Is this normal or do I have to wait a whole day to turn it back on?
Assuming you are referring to the battery unit (AC300 is a head unit only and contains not battery) if the unit was accidently left on if not fully turned off, the battery will continue to slow drain beyond the point of recovery. Even if not left on (in standby mode) it is not good practice to go 6 months without cycling the unit and recharging. You may try to use a car charge cord and charge for 24 hours to see if that will enable charging to begin. If not, your battery may be beyond the point of recovery.
Thank you Scott for your answer. Although your answers may be elementary and perhaps obvious for those in the sector, it is not clearly highlighted in the Bluetti manual. This is incredible. I would not have bought your product. However I follow your advice… one question. Should I keep it charged for 24 hours even if it initially shows no signs of life?
Thanks Scott. I’m recharging the b300 with a power station of another brand… but it shows no signs of consumption. Considering that my investment was completely lost, I will definitely not go back to Bluetti. This risk must be written in bold in the manual and not in generic phrases. Very bad experience. Other brands are better. I am sorry
Any brand of portable power station that has an on board mgt.system for the batteries consumes power and must be kept charged. When off, there is still a small amount of power that is consumed by the battery mgt. system and when the State of charge is very low, there is not a lot of time that the unit can be left in this state before the voltage drops low enough that the system cannot initiate a recharge.
Every motor vehicle battery self discharges at some rate and after a period of time without recharging the vehicle will not longer start and operate and the battery may become damaged. Anything with a battery needs to be kept charged.
I do agree that the manuals and information should include plainly worded information to that affect. Portable power stations that no longer initiate a charge are sometimes able to have the correct charging voltage applied directly to the battery for a short duration to bring the voltage back to a point where charging can begin. The manufacturer cannot allow an end user to perform this operation since there is no control on how long the battery is charged and can be dangerous if left in the charging state with no battery management system involved to shut the charging down when appropriate. If you cannot begin charging after connected (as in the above post) for 24 hours, contact Bluetti service for assistance.
