I have an AC200Max & B300K. When I connect power board to an AC port on the 200MAX the surge protected light or site wiring fault light comes on the power board (depending on which board I use). I tried this to reduce the number of power cords. Is connecting power boards to an AC outlet not supported? Could not find anything in the manual. The lights on the boards only come on when connected to the 200MAX.
Hi @DavidM, We’re not quite sure what you mean by “power board”—it sounds like a power strip with surge protection. Is that correct?
It would be best to take a video, upload it to a cloud drive, and share the link with us.
Has an error code appeared on the AC200MAX?
Additionally, please note that the AC200MAX uses a floating ground. If your load requires a forced ground, you’ll need to purchase a neutral ground plug or a grounding rod.
Thanks for the help. Yes, it a power strip with surge protection. There are no error codes or recent alarms. It’s an older APC SurgeArrest strip and I decided to replace it as some others do not show errors.
Hi @DavidM, Thank you for your confirmation. Since there were no error alarms with other power strips, we believe the issue is most likely with this specific power strip. We’re glad to hear the problem has been resolved.
Thanks to @sealy1986 for the explanation, and we also appreciate your consistent warm help in the forum.
Thanks! Yes that is an excellent observation you made in your previous post about Bluetti powerstations having a floating ground. They are floating because they are “by design” portable. I believe some of those APC surge protectors have a “building wiring fault” built in, when it expects a neutral ground, but there is none.
Hi @sealy1986, Yes, I agree with you. Therefore, we recommend that customers use an ordinary power strip.
All our power stations are equipped with a built-in BMS (Battery Management System). In case of overcurrent or overload, the system will activate self-protection.
