New to this

Hello. I am super new to this so please forgive me if I ask basic questions about set up ect. My mind does not work as it once did before my service in the Army. Cognitive issues and such.

So, I did research the site and found a few answers to my questions, but they do not make sense to me in my head. So here it goes:
Went ahead and bought a AC300 and 2-B300’s. Would like to know, with the math involved, if I can use the panels that I will list below and how many for each MPPT? Also, we live in the North East of the US in PA.

  • Maximum Power: 200W
  • Open Circuit Voltage (Voc): 21.6V(DC)
  • Maximum/Peak Voltage(Vmp): 18V (DC)
  • Charge Voltage: 12V (DC)
  • Short Circuit Current (Isc): 12.2A (DC)
  • Working Current (Iop): 10.5A (DC)
  • Output Tolerance: ±3%
  • Temperature Range: -40℃ to +80℃(-40°F to +176°F)

Thank you very much!!!

Hi @slekimt

the AC300 support 12-150V 12A Input for each MPPT.

When you connect them in series you can connect about 6 Panels per MPPT (150V / 21.6V = 6,94 Panels).

i wouldnt recommend to connect 7. This might kill your mppt.

Hope this answer is what you looking for

greetings

Erik

@slekimt When connecting in series, your total open circuit voltage of the solar panel array is not more than 150V will be fine.
AC300 has two MPPT, you can connect the solar panels in two separate ways.

Thank you so much for your replies. I greatly appreciate it and yes the answers given was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks again.

OK, well, things didnt go as planned. Where I ordered the system from ran out so I got a refund. So this leads me to another question. I know its preference and depending on what one wants to do and whats their best situation or intent, but I now have the opportunity to buy 2-AC300 and 2-B300 for $300 more than what I was going to pay for the AC300 and 2-B300’s. Which configuration should I buy now as I can still get the same price for AC300 and 2-B300’s from another vendor? Which would put out more power if used as a home back up system and also as a “just in case” quick pack up and go?

All suggestion and opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
