My new AC180 displays 44% as State of Charge even after plugging in overnight. Does this mean I need to calibrate it via the old discharge to 0% and recharge method. Sounds like a PITA. Thanks for any info.
EDIT - To quote Gilda Radner, “Never mind…” I calibrated the SoC reading by connecting a 900W space heater until it cut off at 0% then recharged via 120V outlet. It took ~45 minutes to reach 80% and another ~30 minutes to get to 100%. Thanks.
@NunnaUrbiz You mentioned charging it overnight, did it show any input Watts during that charge and was that from a stable grid connection?
My suggestions in order;
Connect it to the Bluetti App and check all of the Firmware/Software are up to date.
Check the AC charge settings re Silent, Standard or Turbo and set to Standard. Check that the frequency in Hz (50 or 60) is set to the grid supply of your location. Turn Eco mode OFF.
Do a recalibration - deplete then recharge.
If the AC180 is still showing unexpected charge %, contact @BLUETTI_CARE for further advice.
Hi @NunnaUrbiz, I appreciate your interest in Bluetti.
We agree with the explanations provided by @Mandp and @sealy1986. Yes, during the long sea shipping process, the AC180 experienced gradual self-discharge, which may have led to an inaccurate SOC reading and caused over-discharge or false battery level issues. However, there’s no need to worry — this can be resolved through recalibration.
Please follow the steps below to recalibrate it:
Please discharge all the power (charge AC & DC appliances with the power station) until the SOC is 0%, turn off the machine, and leave it for 3 hours till it cools down.
Please charge it again, please do not load any device when charging it, and do not interrupt it while charging.

@Mandp’s troubleshooting steps are very thorough and effective. If you still need assistance, please feel free to contact us anytime.
Thanks again mandp. I did the recal routine outlined in the excellent Bluetti video. That set the display to 100% and it’s still showing 100% after sitting overnight. I generally like minimalist UI designs but the combination of my age and modern aesthetics confuses me at times. I’m used to front panel switches like DEC PDP-8 and VAX 11/780.
Thanks Bluetti_Care. May I suggest a notice in the manual in red 24pt text that advises, “SOC (state of charge) may need to be recalibrated upon unboxing. Follow the steps in this video,” followed by a link to the excellent video on your support site.
Hi @NunnaUrbiz, Thank you for your suggestion; we find it very reasonable. We have already passed it on to the product department.
Meanwhile, please note that the recalibration process is relatively complicated, and not all new users need to perform it. It is only required for users who notice inaccurate SOC or rapid power drain.
