Problem solved. At first I couldn’t get it accept my SSID, then when I accomplished that I found out I left out a crucial “.” in the password. So it was password related. That’s what I get for using extra long passwords.
.
But even getting back to the point where I could enter the correct password was a pain, as it again would not accept my SSID. I rebooted my iphone and THEN it accepted my SSID and I could then enter the correct password.
.
I once tried a free trial password manager and it worked for awhile. Then one day it stopped working and when I contacted the company they had no record of me or my account. I was due for a Windows reinstall anyway so good bye password manager.
Hi @St8kout
its been some days since i type in my Wifi option into my EP500 Pro. But to my knowledge, you just connect you phone to the wifi the bluetti should be able to connect to, turn wifi on the bluetti on and you can type in the wifi password in the bluetti app.
greetings
Erik
I had to set up wifi on a new device just a few days ago. I had that where it kept going to the phone wifi settings too, and there is no option to “select” a SSID and go back to the Bluetti app. What I eventually discovered is that I had to have my phone connected to the SSID before trying to set up wifi on the device (I was using my 5GHz band SSID on the phone). Once I had my phone on the SSID I wanted, then I could start the app and make the wifi settings for the device.
I tried turning off 5G in my Router app, so only 2.4 Ghz is being used, but it did nothing.
On “Network Settings” option in the Bluetti App, it shows my Network name, and it’s trying to connect, but still fails.
I contacted tech support; still waiting to hear back.
I wonder if the Bluetti wifi can be reset, (the Factory Reset in advanced settings does nothing except resets the kwh counter at the bottom.)
You are correct. The phone being used to set up the network must be on the same network SSID and frequency (2.4 Ghz) to access the Bluetti hardware under WiFi, although the setup is done using Bluetooth. Most of us have only one network at our homes, so it is done easily.
Some of us will need a WiFi repeator due to distances between the Bluetti hardware and the WiFi router. I had to add one because my router is in the kitchen on the first floor while my Bluetti AC300 setup is on the second floor. There are reinforced concrete walls between them. But it all works well after two years.
So I emailed tech support about my problem…and they emailed my email back to me. No explanation or suggestions, just my original email. What the heck???
Problem solved…adding extra characters so I can hit Reply.
