Initial Setup Charger 2

I have an Apex 300, Charger 2 and DC Hub - no other battery connected. I just want to know if I need to have BOTH the CHG and BAT cables plugged into my APEX 300 for normal operating conditions?

The bat connection should be plugged into your unit via the big round cord, the P090A port, which can push and pull electricity to the charger 2 and then to the DC hub from there.

Clear and thanks for the reply. However, I am asking if BOTH the CHG and BAT cable get plugged into the Apex 300. I have no extra battery, just have the Apex 300. The manual makes it look like that is how it is supposed to be setup, but I am having all sorts of issues/errors with BOTH plugged into Apex 300.

FYI - No power to Charger 2 and DC Hub when only CHG is plugged in, but those work well with only BAT plugged in. That said, with only the BAT plugged in, no charging, right? So, BOTH?

Figuring the BAT (bidirectional P090A) cable will allow charging, by rereading your answer, but what is the proper application/use of the CHG cable? Bit confusing looking at the manual…

The CHG port is for portable power stations without the p090a port to charge via the PV port. It’s so you can have a portable power station like the elite 200 and then a backup battery with the p090a port. All of their diagrams with the app (picture of the van with solar panels) has both the PPS via charger and a backup parking battery via p090a port.

Thank you, again, for the conversation. Here’s my challenge. Called Bluetti Cust Svc and they said ONLY plug in the CHG to PV via Charger 2. No need for P090A unless charging another battery. They also stated the following in reply to this email question: “Do I plug BOTH the CHG and BAT cables into the APEX 300 for normal operation?” The reply (ticket 404419) was as follows: “For normal operation of the APEX 300 without an extra battery connected, you should plug the CHG cable into the APEX 300. The BAT cable is typically used for connecting to additional batteries or specific configurations that require bidirectional power. Since you do not have an extra battery connected, only the CHG cable is necessary for your setup.” Confusing, at a minimum.

Updated email from Bluetti:

"To be clear, Apex 300 can only communicate with Charger 2 with the P090D [D?] bidirectional cable, connecting to the BAT port.

BAT Input/Output port:
1.Reverse charging(BLUETTI battery to Starter battery): If your car battery level drops, you can enable reverse charging in the BLUETTI app to recharge it from Apex 300, ensuring reliable engine startup and continuous, safe power.

2.Forward Charging(recharge BLUETTI battery): When the reverse charging function is disabled, Apex 300 will charge from the Charger 2. The maximum charging power for the Apex 300 through the BAT port is 1000W.

The CHG cable is only DC output for charging Apex 300 or other power stations, combining up to 800W of vehicle alternator input and up to 600W of solar input to provide up to 1200W of charging power to your portable power station that connects to CHG port.

Therefore, you can connect to either BAT port or CHG port for charging your Apex 300.
Please don’t plug both the CHG and BAT cables into the Apex 300."

The LAST sentence is what I have been seeking… clarity. Thanks again for helping.
