How to get DC Hub for Charger 2 to stay on after car stops

I recently bought the Charger 2, with the DC hub for charger 2. I have a Portable power station plugged in via PV port and the charger 2 connected to my Ford transit battery. To use the DC Hub for charger 2 after the car stops, you must have a “parking battery” or power bank battery plugged in via P090A port. I have a B230 which I have plugged in via that port and have that turned on. After the car stops and I have already turned on the DC hub, it will stay on only via the power of the b230 power bank. The FAQ says the PV port is too weak to power the DC hub after the car stops.

In my case though, the DC hub sayed on after the car stopped only for about 2 minutes, and then the charger 2 went into sleep mode, even though the DC hub had 10watts pulling from a fan. There is no settings in the bluetti app to prevent sleep mode. I called bluetti support to see how I prevent sleep mode and they said I need to be pulling 5-10watts or more to prevent sleep mode of the charger 2 to the DC hub.

Also, if you are reverse charging your car, you cannot use the DC hub at the same time. Which makes sense but you need to plan this into your electric build workflow, especially since the Anderson connector for dc hub for charger 2 will have power turned off at random times until they build out the app more (I hope)

I’m writing this because if you were planning on using the DC hub full time plugged into the charger 2/ power bank, it will have weird quicks and shut off randomly. They are not publishing my review of the DC hub for charger 2 yet, which seems odd. They definitely need to fix some bugs and add more customization of features for the charger 2 / DC hub. I am also seeing a random error (G053) which has no actionable steps or documentation.

I’m am the guinea pig for the charger 2 / DC hub apparently. Bluetti please add more support for these products in the app. Way too may things undocumented. Please reach out to me, I would be happy to help with app testing or idea development.

@BLUETTI . If my DC hub for Charger 2 is on when the car stops, how do I prevent my charger 2 going into sleep mode, which then turns off the DC panel? After 2 minutes after the car stops, the charger 2 always goes into sleep mode, which then kills power from BAT port to DC hub. Please fix this with an update, the device is not working as you stated it would that the DC hub would stay on via power from the P090A port to BAT port on Charger 2 after the car is turned off.

Hello,

Regarding the issue of the DC HUB not working after the vehicle is turned off, we need to confirm whether the DC HUB is completely powered off or just the output is turned off. Please note that the LED indicator only shows the output switch status and does not indicate whether the power is off. You can try connecting to the DC HUB using the app to see if it connects properly, which will help determine whether it is powered off or just the output is disabled. Please also provide the serial number (SN) and firmware version for both the CHARGER 2 and the DC HUB.

Additionally, the sleep mode is automatic and can only be disabled in the app.

During reverse charging, both the CHG and DC HUB will not turn on, which is normal.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out!

@BLUETTI I made a video to explain what Is happening here: https://youtu.be/KqX6xqAIh8I?si=_wyjqUlYuimvO9SR please send to your app developers to look into why the charger 2 goes into sleep mode or to let us have adjustment setting in the app. Please watch the video when you have time.

I had a similar issue but I was using the APEX 300. I had the bidirectional power cable hooked up to the BAT port, and also had the Power Station output port CHG hooked into my apex. At the end of this video https://youtu.be/6zZBRIKCavc he explains you cant have both hooked up. In order for the station to serve as the parking battery it needs to be only connected via the bidirectional power.

To fix my issue I turned off both the apex and Charger 2 and disconnected it from all power sources, including the solar and the car battery. I reconnected it to the apex with just the bi directional power cable and booted up the apex, followed by charger and then the D1 HUB. It is currently working and running with the vehicle off. I completely disconnected the CHG plug from the Charger 2.

I think the way it was explained in the video above, you could connect a second battery BK300 and then be able to have the CHG plugged into the power station.

I was not able to find the D1 HUB using Bluetooth in order to update any firmware, and have an openticket with Bluetti for it.

Hope this helps

I am still having this error occur.

My charger 2 Arm is v30041.01.17

My B230 BMS is v1011.09

@BLUETTI can you confirm if my charger 2 needs an arm upgrade and when the development team is expecting to release the update?

I also made a D+ wire to a ignition fuse to have the app show the car battery charging metrics as well. It’s weird bluetti did not include a D+ cable when it’s required for things to work as expected

Hello,

Thank you for your message and for providing the details regarding your Charger 2 and B230 battery management system. To assist you further, could you please provide the serial number (SN) of your device? I will check and inquire if there is a firmware update available.

We appreciate your feedback about the D+ wire, and I understand your concerns regarding its necessity for proper operation.

Looking forward to your response!

@BLUETTI my B230 serial number is 90176T21380017
Please let me know how to upgrade the firmware via plugging into the charger 2 with P090a and when the firmware is ready for me to upgrade it.
