I have a BLUETTI AC180 1800W 1152Wh and would like to attach 4 200W and 1 180W solar panels to it. I find the literature confusing, and would greatly like some help. Thank you all.
It depends on the open circuit voltage of your solar panel, please provide more specs on the panel so members can better help you.
Also it is not recommended to connect solar panels with different power in series.
I have 2 BLUETTI PV200 200W Solar Panel,26 volts, and 1 BLUETTI Solar Panel PV120S 120W Foldable Monocrystalline 24V for Power Station, and 2 30a.solar 200 watt, 20 volt panels.
Hi @Paul_Bunion @BLUETTI you can use the 2 200w panels together on the AC180 or use the single 120w on its own but you can’t mix and match the panels they need to be identical.
You can use different panels, at times it can be counterproductive though. The lesser panel will bring down the more powerful panel in most cases.
Answering the original OP. You should be able to safely run a 2S2P (2 in series and 2 parallel) with your 4 200 watt panels. As long as the VOC (open voltage) of 2 panels is below your units max voltage. Make sure to understand how this wire configuration works and test the voltage with a volt meter before plugging it in, to make sure it’s wired correctly. Solar panels can exceed the wattage and the amperage, but not the voltage. I believe your unit has a 60 volt limit? Most modern 200 watt panels make under 30 volts each. But do confirm the #s.
