Generator not charging

Good day,

I have encountered a problem. The generator started NOT CHARGING last night. Not sure why. So this is the situation. I bring down to 1 AMP. Still not charging. The GRID icon on the app is green so it receives input. Actually I can read the input which is 242.5V and 50.01HZ, the only fluctuation I see on the bluetti screen are the last numbers 5 and 1 sometimes goes to a 4 and a 2. Therefore the current seams to be extremely clean. I also updated the AC500 firmware to v9041.12. I have not updated the batteries yet (should I do that?). On advanced settings I tried to enable the Grid self adaptation but it doesn’t let me do it (and yes I tried that with Bluetooth connection). Running out of ideas here… it seams there is a safety mechanism on the bluetti that is blocked and doesn’t want to accept any AC input from my generator. The generator works well if I plug it to a power tool or anything else so I am deducing it it a problem of the AC500 that for some reason is not happy…

Anyone can help me on this?

Hi. Do you mean you are trying to charge your AC500 from a generator? If so it needs to be a pure sine wave / inverter generator.

What is the name brand and model of the generator and what voltage are you charging with?

Yes, so I have been using this generator to charge my bluetti system for more than 1 year. Maybe once a month (the rest with solar). It is inverted. Pure sinowave

FG2500iS generator. We use 220-240V here in Vanuatu

Anyone have any ideas?

Yes call Bluetti and ask them.
You may need to change the max input voltage.

BTW, Max input was reduced to 1AMP already so I can’t try anything lower than that. The generator used to work at 3AMP before the problem occurred

Did you try this?

  1. Grid Self-Adaption Mode

When charging with an unstable generator or grid power, or if consumption power exceeds charging power, enable this mode in the app. The Apex 300 automatically adjusts to handle power fluctuations, protecting the unit and connected devices from potential issues due to variations in power quality

So this is interesting. Yes I tried to switch on that mode. It doesn’t let me. It is my understanding you need to be connected via bluetooth (not via cloud or wifi) in order to actually put the AC500 in 8. Grid Self-Adaption Mode. So I did that as well but it doesn’t even allow me to enable it… the command remains in the grey mode.
