I’m looking in to acquiring a garden shredder and of cause my AC200l is to power it using solar panels to charge it. The question is if its powerfull enough. The technical data for the shredder is 220-230v,
Duty Cycle S1: 2300w
Duty Cycle S6: 2500w
Now the 2300w is within the AC200l spec of 2400w however the S6 duty cycle is not but then the AC200l can deliver short burst above 2400w.
Guess I’m struggling a bit on how to understand the S6 duty cycle. The S1 is defined as continues duty and then S6 is duty following no load but it is not specified how long the duty period is or the no load.
Anyone tried using the AC200l with a garden shredder that pulls this kind of load, the specific shredder I have in mind is a Bosch ATX 25 TC?
I’ve used garden shredders in the past. I found that when something going through it that causes it to struggle, the motor can overload. BTW I’m in AU so 240VAC.
The next point I’ll make is; i.e. I use my AC180 in the caravan to power the microwave. It’s rated power input is 1200W and on the grid it draws 1150 or so watts. From the AC180 it draws around 1340W. This is probably due to the fact that the AC180 output is 230VAC no load and near 220VAC under load.
Therefore my opinion is that when using a power bank to run your shredder, the actual watts on the AC200L will be higher than your device rating.
As it is already very close to the limit at S1 & overloaded at S6, I would suggest the answer is NO.
Keep in mind as the primary load is an electric motor, power lifting mode will likely not work either.
Thanks for input and I know that the AC200L will be operating close to its limits. The S1 is not that big a concern for me, mostly because continues will in this case be “consuming a branch” which is 20s or so and then is will be no load until I can feed it a new branch.
The concern is the spikes that happens during load. The AC200L can take some serious load, think 7000w for 0,5s.
I know that the power lifting will not work here, because there is a motor driver that controls the motor.
