Foam Insert As Holder

Hello, Has anyone covered the foam insert your Bluetti came with to use as a dock?

Hi @Promaster

welcome to the bluetti community forum!

What do you exactly mean “use as a dock”?

I use the underside of my foam insert to keep my B300 a little warmer when staying outside in the winter. Otherwise it would be on the cold ground and cant be charged.

You only should do something like this, when its cold outside and when you ventilation area isnt blocked.

greetings
Erik

Things to consider:

  • The foam is both an excellent thermal insulator as a flammable material. Make sure your planned dock does not restrict ventilation and air flow around your unit.
  • Bluetti units have an excellent safety design and a relatively safe battery chemistry. But they still are electronics with a lot of stored battery energy so there is still a small risk of fire. When a lot of flammable materials are near your unit, such as the protective foam, it can enlarge fires.

I’m not sure keeping this expensive equipment outside is a good idea in winter, but if nothing else keeping it inside will help with heating up the room it’s in, (but the fan noise might bother you.)
.
I’d like to keep my AC500 &batteries in the garage, which would be fine for Winter, but the Las Vegas summer heat would likely kill it.
