I am considering buying a B80 to use in power bank mode as an extension battery for my EB3A.
I would like to hear from anyone who has this combination - positive & negative. I know some inefficiencies will occur so that the total Wh capacity of the B80 won’t be available - but I’m curious to hear your thoughts!
In Australia the B80 is AU$999, the AC70 is priced at AU$799. (I have the AC70) The B80 has a capacity of 806Wh, the AC70 is 768Wh. My logic to expand my AC70 is; For $200 less, I lose 38Wh of capacity, but gain a 1,000W inverter, 2 x AC outlets, App connect, extra DC outlets and mains charging, over the B80.
So as a power bank extra capacity supply for the AC70 or any other power station smaller in capacity or inverter to it, using a second to augment battery Wh made better economic sense to me than using a B80.
I would use a 2nd AC70 in UPS mode and feed the primary power station via AC charging rather than a DC add on. Yes there is an efficiency loss, but I could live with that for the added benefits listed.
I don’t own the EB3A, but if I did, my same logic would prevail as I could monitor it via the App, even if the other power station did not have bluetooth.
