EP600: What is the new ‘solar inverter’ switch in PRO mode for?

With app V3.05, a new switch called ‘Solar Inverter’ is now visible in PRO mode. What is this switch for, and what does it do?

@BLUETTI_CARE
Any idea or information from the development team?

If it’s the same as an EP900 or EP13k, it’s for an AC coupled PV array.

I already assumed that it was intended for AC PV inverters (I have several in my system). But how does this switch work, what exactly does it do?
I tried to activate it several times and then deactivated it again a few days later. I don’t notice any difference, regardless of whether [Solar Inverter] is active or inactive.

Hi @SigiKa, thank you for your interest in our product.

At present, the “Solar Inverter” function on the EP600 is not yet available. We have preset it mainly for off-grid usage scenarios, and future specific functionality will be decided and developed based on customer demand.

If you have any suggestions regarding this switch or feature, please let us know. We will be happy to forward your feedback to our R&D team for further discussion.

Thank you to @CurtisNolting76 for the attention and explanation.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE,
a surprise, a new feature that hasn’t been fully thought through and developed yet.
I’ll take some time to think about what I might imagine it to be.
.
Actually, it would be much more important to me that the DRM function finally be completed. First it was the end of October 2025, then the end of 2025, then the end of January… now it’s going to be the end of February.
.
I don’t want to open up another can of worms…

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE,

After you asked for suggestions for development, I thought about what makes sense and what I “absolutely” still need…

  • The DRM function is already in development, so I’m eagerly awaiting it, but hopefully I’ll be able to check it off the list soon.
    .
  • I’m missing energy management for large consumers, so I’d like an interface (and/or hardware) that can communicate with a wallbox to check the battery level, PV performance, and whether the electric car can be charged now. The same goes for a heat pump: should it start now or later?
    .
  • What I always find myself missing in winter is a “deep sleep” mode for the EP600. When the batteries are almost empty anyway and there is no PV output (snow on the roof), I find the EP600’s own consumption annoying. Even when it is already switched off, it still consumes quite a bit of battery power. So I go into the garage and switch off the batteries with the “green” switch and only switch them back on when my AC PV inverters report power…
    .
  • I would like to see a switch in the app that allows me to switch off the batteries, not just mechanically, but via software. It should then also be possible to switch them on with the app, or even better with home automation.
    .
  • A potential-free contact would also be conceivable. In the counter box, I can switch a relay if the mains power fails and I need the backup battery, even if it is completely switched off.
This means I have to go to the garage and switch it on manually first… but I’m not always at home when the power fails.
A free contact could be useful here, i.e., a reverse “generator” function. Not to start an emergency generator, but to “start” the EP600.
Perhaps an adapter could be connected to the B500’s communication cable? How is the on/off signal from the “green switch” passed from one battery to the next? Perhaps there is already an electrical contact there?

Hi @SigiKa, thank you for sharing us your idea.
We have passed on all your feedback to the R&D department. We believe your views represent not only yourself but also many EP600 users.
