Elite 300 solar input

I recently purchased Elite 300 with pv input 12-60v 22a and 1200w max. I planned on using 2 x 350w zoupw in parallel with the following Vmp 43.2V Imp 8.1A Voc 50.2V Isc 8.58A. Zoupw tells me this is not recommended, I don’t understand why. Any recommendations for a “safe” setup that gets me to 600-800 watts of input?

You would be pushing 16 amps over a thin gauge wire on top of the fact the unit may not have bypass diodes so if it backfeeds, it could damage the panel. Mostly its about pushing too much current through the wire which its not rated to handle. It’s likely 16AWG or 14AWG which is MAX 15 amps. If you lay them flat the panels may only produce 6-7 amps (each) which would put you around 38V@13 ish amps or 500 watts. That’s about the best you can hope for and not burn out anything. It says 43.2V on the specs, but according to what I researched a lot of people were stating it was getting around that mark. If you get 43V@13A then you’ll max at 560W. Welcome to reality vs. expectation.
