Elite 200 v2 - and mixed solar panels

Can the Elite 200 v2 with the dual sets of MC4 connectors run one pair of SP200L panels, and one pair of the prior model PV220 panels. I believe the panel models have slightly different voltages. Hence, I’m wanting to know if I can run one set of PV220s in series and one set of SP200Ls in series to the same device.

@BLUETTI

What do you think about this?

As we mentioned several times before in the thread about solar panels: different models of solar panels can’t be connected together because their internal circuitry isn’t consistent. :handshake:

Ok thanks. The confusion for me was whether or not the separate MC4 connectors that paired at the Elite XT60 connector had to teamed with identical panels.

Both sets of MC4s should have the same solar panels.

I received a different answer from Bluetti customer support. They said as long as the panels were within spec voltage it would be fine to use different sets since there were 2 MC4 connectors on the Elite 200. The PV 220, and SP200L are fairly close specification voltage wise. Sp200: 20.52v, PV220: 21.6v

Can you confirm?

Yes, you can usually run different panel models together as long as each pair is matched in series and the total voltage/current stays within the Elite 200 V2 input limits. The small voltage difference between the PV220 and SP200L panels shouldn’t be a major issue on separate inputs. Just double-check the specs before connecting everything.

I agree with @WilliamYates - Providing the total Voc is below 60V and the amps do not overly exceed 20A mismatched panels will still work, except…

I have the following panels;
PANEL STATS
If I connect them as follows; The same panels in Series and then the 2 strings in Parallel, the Voc doubles for each string, amps stay the same. When connecting these 2 strings together in Parallel the Imp amps are 8.33+7.69 = 16.02, however the lower of the 2 voltages is what applies i.e. 36V (Hardkorr Vmp x 2). This = a theoretical max Watts of 577 from a 620W string.

Not ideal, but the Voc and amps are below the Elite’s limits and will work. I have since purchased 2 more Dune panels so that the above variation does not occur. I use the H/K panels on other equipment, so not wasted.
