I have an EB70S that won’t charge. It was left on and the battery depleted to 0% on the screen. This is only the second time I have used it in a year normally keeping it sored around 80%. Now when I plug in the AC adapter it only flashes a red battery icon in the bottom right. I can hear something in the AC adapter cycling about every 5-6 seconds like a reset. I also tried a 100W panel and it did not change anything. What can I do about this? Doesn’t the BMS protect the battery from over depletion? If not what’s the point of a BMS?
Welcome to the forum @jbaack !!
Try “car charging” it for awhile. Sometimes the SOC of the unit will drop so low that it can’t be activated by the AC charging brick. Leave it charging via DC/PV input for a few hours and hopefully it’ll get enough juice to let the AC charging brick to start working again.

Hi @jbaack, Using the device only twice a year is not ideal for the battery’s maintenance.
Here are some suggestions for storing the unit.
- Never store the battery empty, even for only a few days. LiFePO4 batteries might be unrecoverable if stored empty.
- Storage temperature: 0-40℃. Don’t store the battery in a humid environment. Keep it away from fire as well.
- The optimal state of charge for long-term storage is 50%.
- The battery will slowly self-discharge over time. The battery should be recharged every 3-6 months.
- Don’t store the battery on its side. Keep it up straight.
- Don’t stack things on top the unit. Don’t block the fans.
Thank you for @m.briney’s suggestion. Car charging is very helpful for waking up batteries from deep sleep.
