Dear Community,
I’ve been successfully using my EB70 for a number of months. On one trip the unit hadn’t topped up charge from the car socket as usual. Initially just assumed cable connection error; however these were checked but the unit continued to drain on the outputs until completely flat.
I notice that on the car charger it initially pulls 60 watts but this drops after a few minutes to a mere 20+ watts. I switched to solar (bluetti EV200) and at mid-day in August in Italy with a clear sky it was only taking in 70 watts when the EV200 should give 200 watts albeit it has never achieved this.
I’ve managed over 1 whole day to get the unit to 40% charge and in doing so observed that the cooling fan never came on which is unusual.
Any ideas please.
Hi @Tylgarth, Since solar charging works, it indicates that the DC charging module of the EB70 is functioning properly. We recommend pressing down on the car charging cable while it’s connected to rule out any loose connection issues. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, you might consider contacting the seller to request a replacement car charging cable, which could potentially fix the issue.
Additionally, while charging with the car charger, could you try pressing and holding the AC + DC + LED buttons simultaneously to see if any error codes are displayed?
Regarding the low solar charging power, it might be due to weather conditions or the angle at which the solar panels are positioned. Could you try adjusting the angle of the panels to see if that increases the charging power?
Hi Bluetti_Care,
Many thanks for the prompt reply.

Good news you don’t think it’s the DC charging module. To support this view when pressing the 3 buttons the screen reads U160 E000 (photo attached) which I believe is no error detected.

I have double checked the connections and there is still the wattage drop with time. I travelled 4 hours today and the EB70 remained on 40% which was the same from yesterday’s solar charge. However, because the Bluetti supplied connector is so short I have had to use an extension cable. I’ll experiment with and without this extension cable to see if there is a change and narrow the potential fault source.

Yes I’m aware of the environmental conditions issue and I’ve varied angles, like there is no tomorrow, but in the last two weeks the EB70 barely tops 100 watts input whereas in March it achieved the highest ever reading in the 140’s.
It just seems too coincidental that I suddenly have a problem with both the car and solar charger at the same time?
Hi @Tylgarth, Yes, the length of the charging cable can affect the test results. We would like to know if there is a difference in results after switching back to the original cable. Have you contacted customer service? If possible, please send us a direct message with your order number so that we can urge customer service to handle it promptly.
Additionally, please note that if you need my assistance, please @BLUETTI_CARE, otherwise, I might not see your message and be able to help you promptly.

@BLUETTI_CARE ,
Both cables yield the same input to the EB70. Yes I have been in direct contact by email.
Unit has now completely failed and will not take any charge. Conclusion it will have to go it for repair/replacement.
Hi @Tylgarth, thank you for letting us know.
I think the email support will help you repair it. Please feel free to contact us if you need more help.
