EB63A - Bluetooth - Home Assistant

EB63A - Bluetooth - Home Assistant,

Hello, I recently bought an eb63a, and I need to configure my home assistant to read the device’s battery and consumption data, so I can measure and automate some routines remotely. It seems that the new firmware uses some type of encryption in Bluetooth communication, which makes it impossible to use the home assistant. Has anyone found another solution for this?

Thank you very much,

Hi @brunokelo, We take the issue you’re facing very seriously.
We believe this may not be related to the new firmware.
But if you don’t mind, could you please message us with the SN code of your EB3A? We can try rolling back to the original firmware to resolve the issue.

Hi,

thanks

Its related to the firmware since the module written for HomeAssistant cant handle the PIN Code that the EB3A ask to connect. Its simply not implemented.

Hi @brunokelo, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
Thank you to @Selfmadestrom for the response. I will discuss with the engineers to find any alternative solutions. We will update here once we have a definite answer.

Thank you very much, it would be really interesting to be able to create automations based on the eb63 data, such as activating or deactivating the consumption of electrical energy from the grid based on the battery charge and the energy generation of the solar panel.

Maybe having the option of not needing a password to connect to my station,

Hi @brunokelo, I appreciate your kind understanding and patience.
We found that there is currently no new firmware to address this issue. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist further.

Thank you, @Selfmadestrom, for your explanation. Many of our products now prioritize customer safety and do not support Bluetooth interoperability with modules from other platforms, including HomeAssistant.

I have been watching this topic with interest as I am also a recent purchaser of a Bluetti device which I really wanted to integrate with Home Assistant. I am sure that there are many people that decided to buy a Bluetti device because it “was” possible to integrate with Home Assistant until the addition of Bluetooth encryption. I am guilty of not finding out until after my purchase.
I have read numerous replies from Bluetti stating that integration to Home Assistant (again) was being discussed/planned… Can you please provide a definitive answer as to whether and when this may happen.
I believe that Bluetti are loosing sales because of this oversight which I’m sure would be possible securely and safely.

Hi @AndyD

i already have a little talk about this topic “Open the Bluetti Ecosystem”. Its not like that everyone at Bluetti dont want a open system with possibilitys like that, but they told me that they are worried about potential data risk, when the user data will be shared with third partys.

I dont see a problem with a self hosted HomeAssistant instance that only get data via bluetooth or a official plugin for the cloud service, but for sure there will be a risk to open it to other companys.

As i understand them, they are working on a API with limited functionality, read only values. For example current solar Input. In this case, there wont be shared any location data or other personal information like adress etc.

We will see, when it arrives, but im totally with you that this is a “must have”. Nearly any company have open APIs to work with different services.

You can be sure, that this Feedback was received!

Hi @AndyD, Yes, we have indeed received your feedback and take it very seriously. It has been passed on to the product development department.

We also aim to strike a balance between safety and openness, providing our customers with the maximum convenience.

A big thank you to @Selfmadestrom for the helpful response, and we truly appreciate your ongoing support and trust, which means a lot to us.

I made a huge mistake when bought Bluetti AC180P hoping that I could quickly set up an automation for the reserved line.
Sure, I made a research before buying it and was assured it does work via Bluetooth. But when I first tried to connect it to HA - nothing had worked. Turned out the new firmware is the root cause.
Past 6 months can’t do anything with it, still blocked by the dump charge station.
I wish I bought Ecoflow that day.

I was frustrated by this too.
