If I can and should I charge my IPhone 14 using DC power?

Does it use less power if I charge through the DC? I was charging on top, but I noticed it would turn off every once in a while while charging.
I charge my ipad directly through the USB-C jack. Blazing fast charging since none of my chargers can supply that much power. The wireless charging pad is okay for casual or overnight charging, or just a convenient place to set your gadgets down on.
