Bought the EB3A so that I could ‘get into’ solar for emergency blackouts. Too cool, but soon realized it’s limits for daily use. I can pretty much keep my laptop, watch, cellphone charged during day, but not really all night.
Ended up buying another power bank - Anker Solid 6000 (2,400w) just cause the amazing deal they had last month.
In the meantime, I purchased two dozen Philips Ultra Efficient bulbs to use with the EB3A. Wanted to be able to let the bank keep them on at night and remove that charge from my bill. However, EB3A doesn’t recognize the 4 watt bulbs. Assume it’s a load bearing situation. Bluetti just doesn’t see the low draw. Which sucks, since you would think that many owners would be looking for exactly this - efficient bulbs!
Also confusing as it recognizes (and charges) my Apple iWatch which is 1watt or less. (tho that’s DC).
Any idea if there’s a setting I can change in the EB3A to adjust the load threshold or another trick?
Appreciate it.
;)
There is no load threshold but the display will not display very small loads. I you saying the light bulbs will not illuminate or the load is not appearing on the screen?
@sleepyrice As Scott mentioned above, the unit wont display an output if the draw is too low. I believe its 10w with the eb3a where it will start actually showing an output figure. If you want to see how many watts its truly outputting… plug the bulbs into a killawatt power meter device, and then plug the kilowatt into the eb3a.
something like this…

Yup, the unit will not illuminate a cord with a 4 watt Philips bulb. Works fine in a wall outlet, but neither outlet in the power bank will switch on the 4 watt.
When I switch the bulb to 6 watt, it works.
I have not seen or heard of any occurrences of a bulb not illuminating but have personally seen flickering. I think there is something with the specs of this particular LED bulb that is not allowing it to illuminate.
I would try another brand and type of 60W equivalent led bulb and see if it will function. I have used many 6o watt (equivalent) led bulbs and many different models with no issues other than some flickering on some brands of LED bulbs. I have also seen some reports of DC led bulbs flickering in van builds. Not widespread, but have seen it.
