Considering getting a Charger 1 and was wondering, can I charge along with AC charging in my Tacoma?
When I drive I can get my AC connection to charge around 400-468 watts and connected with my attached Solar at around 100 watts. I’m assuming I can replace the solar and use the Charger one and get roughly 1000+ watts while driving? When I connect to AC at home it charges around 1068 watts.
Can I use both charging options while driving?
The maximum AC input is 1440W in Turbo mode and 500W input from DC. As the Charger 1 is a DC to DC source, the AC180 will limit the input from it to 500W. As the there is only one DC input, it’s either solar or Charger1.
If you have upto 468W of AC when driving, this goes into the AC input and Yes, this can be done at the same time for a total of Approx 960W, which is below the AC180 max input.
I don’t have the charger 1, but, I do have a 375W Victron in the 4by and a 110W solar panel and can get up to 485W in when combined. I rarely do so as 375W is fast enough for me.
