I know in the AC180 manual there is an error code E086 (Charging temperature too low), but I just wanted to ensure that if the battery is below 32 degrees fahrenheit, it will not allow a connected solar panel to damage the battery?
Furthermore, is there any downside to leaving the solar panel connected to the battery long-term once the battery is at 100%?
@Spqr
The error E086 indicates insufficient temperature for charging. The machine cannot charge below 0 degrees Celsius, but it won’t damage the battery. This error setting is in place specifically to prevent battery damage. Currently, BLUETTI models do not have the " freeze protection from solar charging damage" you mentioned.
I think what @BLUETTI is try to explain is, that the unit cant be charge, when its freezing (0 degrees Celsius or 32 degrees fahrenheit). The Unit just dont accept any charge, when its to cold, to prevent any battery damage. You can discharge the unit at colder temperaturs. But due its lifepo4 cells, it dont like to get charged in cold conditions.
