Disable/Enable ECO Mode

The new AC180 came with ECO Mode set by Default. Is it possible to Disable it from the front panel. The app doesn’t impress me bc it asks for location data. I see no reason for a power station to need location. In my paranoid mind, if an app asks for unnecessary data, what else is it doing unknown to me? While I’m on the subject, is there a way to sideload the app on Android to avoid the Play Store. I don’t trust them either. Thanks.

  1. Power on the unit.
  2. Press and Hold the DC and AC buttons until 50hz/60hz blinks repeatedly.
  3. Press DC button to cycle between ECO on and OFF
  4. Press and hold DC and AC buttons for a few seconds to go back to normal.

There are 2 ways to to use the App - Local or online.
Local only needs your phone GPS turned on and doesn’t send anything to others.
Online requires you to Login with a username (email) and password. This is the only way to download Firmware updates. It also gives you much better and seemless control of the AC180.
I use Play store all the time with no issue. However, I also have very good anti virus software on all of my devices and have never had an issue.

Hi @NunnaUrbiz

Just want to clarify, why the App asks for location permission. There are actually a few legit reasons for that.

  1. To find new devices, you need sometimes need to enable “location” to scan for neaby devices
  2. The App offers local weather data, it somehow needs to know what to show
  3. You also can set a location of the powerstation. Manuell or by automaticly by GPS

If your using a newer Android or IOS Version, you can set the permisision for location to “ask everytime” or “While App in use”. You also can see a indicator, when a app is checks for location in the background.

You can sideload the App from sides like APKMirror and co. But theese arent more “safe” than the regular play store version.

    greetings

Thank you sealy1986. I haven’t yet tried this but it’s on my To-Do list today. Are all front panel actions listed somewhere?

Thanks again mandp. I’ll look into using it in local mode. Do you know if the app will d/l and install updates via a VPN. Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean people aren’t out to get me!

Thank you selfmadestrom (Erik). I hear you but, in today’s world, it’s better to be safe than sorry. I can imagine scenarios where Bluetti is forced to hand over user data by a govt hell bent on “relocating” those who disagree.

To Bluetti forum app, I will combine multiple answers in the future.

It’s on Page 12 of the User Manual.

Thanks, your instructions (above) worked fine. The manual is still a bit of a mystery. It’s not quite as bad as the chinglish of yore but could use more polish.
