Difference of consumption between AC and DC12V.

Hello,

I tested to power my 12V telescope mount and telescope, camera with Peltier module. No issue for the moment.
I tested it with AC output giving me 45 W of consumption. I tested it as well with Dc 12v output giving me 18W in the same conditions.
Does AC output need more watt because it has to convert from 220 to 12v ?

Any voltage conversion will consume power during the conversion. In this case, I assume you are using a power brick plugged into the ac socket which converts 120VAC to 12 VDC. The power brick will consume power during the conversion process.

Thanks. Indeed I use a brick for AC. I will use the the DC 10A output.
