Did i hurt my AC180

Hi, im new to solar and and the different generators.
I picked up a 300W Massimo pannel and it chared my battery from 63% up to a 100% in just over 1 hr.
I didnt realize that the 180 has a 10A max input."i didn’t know it was a issue " and my pannel states that a working current of 12.5A… so my question is did i mess up my unit? It seems weird that the display stated that it would take 2.2 hr for a full charge but it took just over 1hr. I never got any errors on the display.

Hi @Chrslefty, We tried searching for the solar panel you mentioned and found that the VOC of this 300W panel is 24V. Is that correct?

If so, there is no need to worry. The AC180 accepts a DC voltage input range of 12-60V, so as long as it’s within this range, it’s safe to use.

Any excess current beyond the supported power will simply be wasted, but it will not cause any damage to the AC180.

It looks like your solar panel is charging at a very fast speed. Please perform a load test to check if the SOC is accurate. If the discharge speed is also abnormally fast, you will need to upgrade the BMS to the latest version and recalibrate.

Please provide us with your AC180’s SN code and current BMS version, and we will arrange for the new firmware to be pushed to you.

Thank you for the quick responce.
That is the correct specs for the pannel.
So i dont need to worry about the 12.5A working current,as long as its in the 12-60v range? I will get the #'s off of the unit in the morning.
What would be the best way to check a load test?
Thanks for all of your assistance

Hi @Chrslefty the Bluetti will only draw amps up to its maximum input specs. So there’s no need to worry about additional amps (or watts) from your panel or panels. As stated, it’s the OCV/VOC voltage that you cannot exceed. In fact, it’s better to make sure your total voltage is about 10% below the maximum to allow for voltage increases in cooler temperatures.

Hi @Chrslefty, Yes, you are right. Please don’t worry about the current.
We recommend testing the AC180 with a load of around 1000W.
@Erebus’s response is absolutely correct.

By the way, please note that if you need my assistance, please @BLUETTI_CARE, otherwise, I might not see your message and be able to help you promptly.

@BLUETTI_CARE hi thanks for getting back to me, heres the information that you asked for.

Bsm v1052.03 . I tried the update stated it was current.
Did a load test.
Hairdryer.
1584w 60hz will run for .6hr

Hi @Chrslefty, We would like to push the latest firmware to you, but we noticed that the SN code you provided is incomplete.
The correct SN code is the 13-digit number following the model name AC180. However, you only provided 12 digits.
Please provide a screenshot of the SN code interface in the APP so we can verify and then push the latest BMS firmware to you after confirmation.

@BLUETTI_CARE . Sorry about that

Hi @Chrslefty, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
We have requested to push the latest BMS firmware for you.
Our IT department will push the latest firmware to your unit in 24 hours.
Please upgrade the firmware tomorrow. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.

After that, please try to complete the cycle of discharge and charge to correct the SOC. The problem will be resolved.
Please follow the steps below to recalibrate it:

  1. Please discharge all the power (charge AC & DC appliances with the power station) until the SOC is 0%, turn off the machine, and leave it for 3 hours till it cools down.
  2. Please charge it again, please do not load any device when charging it, and do not interrupt it while charging.
